this ain't mine.. but still.. lol

well, there's enough new stuff for me to play Minecraft again

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Around the Network

So basically, as part of my "Let's piss my friends off" scheme, I have decided to create a dungeon in Minecraft. Filled to the brink with Minecraft traps. So having placed a few arrow traps, and creating the switch activated doors that has 50/50 chance of activating the TNT instead that falls on top of you and kills you, I have ran out of the creative juices.

What I have at my disposal : Anything but Lava, it'd take too frigging long to get the buckets of that. But can anyone suggest any good traps that I can use against unexpected players? I got like 400 red stone I can utilize, TNT, Soul Sand, Netherrock or w/e that burns forever etc.

Basically, I need some twisted individuals to contribute some traps for me x)

I know I'm a lil' late to the party, but I only just got the game two days ago, and so far, I'm loving it.

Creepers aren't as bad as people make them out to be. They're pretty easy to hit, and it's also not that hard to just jump outta the way before they blow up. (I haven't been unfortunate enough to bump into one o' those buggers in the nighttime, though.)

That's all.

Wait until you're doing something outside, chopping down trees or whatever and FUCK EXPLOSION.  If you're really unlucky he brought a friend.

It's true creepers are pretty easy PROVIDED that you see them coming at least a little bit and the terrain doesn't trap you.  But that isn't always true.  And then they're horrible.

Hope you have plenty of fun in the game.  Do you dig your own mines, or do you prefer to explore natural caves?  I've done both, and I break it down like this:

SAFETY Mines (but still a bit dangerous -- lava)
CONVENIENCE Mines
PRODUCTIVITY Caves?  (a lot, LOT less digging to get at minerals)
FUN Caves  (exploration etc.)

Also if you want obsidian finding a good cave will get you ridiculous amounts of obsidian, I'm in one now and I could literally have thousands of obsidian if I wanted.  Mines are a lot harder since you don't find the lava lakes from the top down.  But then again how much obsidian do you really need?

I dug my first mine into the side of the tallest mountain I could find.  I started digging around, and I noticed some of the charcoal stuff in the ceiling.  I dug that out, and as I dug upwards I said, "Hey, this is a lot easier than climbing the steep outside of the mountain."  So I decided to put my first tower on the top of this tall mountain by digging a rough spiral staircase up through it.  As soon as I broke through the surface-BAAAAMMM!  Next thing I know, I am standing at the bottom of a crater.  I lived though.

Now I have a huge tower at the top of that mountain, and a pretty good mine underneath it.  So I guess it worked out in the end.

mo creatures is brutal on hard, is a bit easier since the last mine craft update lowered mob spawns

All the Obsidian you'll ever ever ever ever need to collect in caves/mines = 20 blocks.

100% guaranteed.

You're now wondering how, I'm certain. It's actually quite simple.

(1) Make a portal to the Nether using 10 blocks (y'know, no corners. Use something else for temporary corner pieces so you can place those two top ones).

(2) Enter the Nether.

(3) Create a new portal in the Nether and destroy the first one (mine it, yo).

(4) Pass back into the upper world.

If you did all of this right, you should be appearing back in the upper world from a whole new portal separate from the one you originally built. Just mine this one away, then go back to your original one and pass back into the Nether. Rinse, repeat. Each time you pass through, it should make you a new portal, creating a whole new set of 14 free obsidian blocks without the hazard of dealing with lava.
