Next couple of weeks should get even more interesting, Once GT5 launches, it will definitely mute the effect Kinect has on the weekly gaps between the 360 and PS3.

Holiday sales will be very close between all 3.

No , it won't but i'll let the sales' numbers speak for themeselves...

52 posts, wow you are quite the expert.

since when does post numbers count for anything? Look how many posts I have....not very many...but guess how long I've been on this site looking at the sales every week and reading the forums. Would you believe it if I said ever since January of 2007? (about three months after the ps3 launched yea that long ago)

I'm not saying I agree with what he said but post count has nothing to do with his experience and I know I for one Idon't want my opinion to be downgraded or considered less just because I don't have very many posts because I've been here before alot of the active members of this site have.

I've been here you just haven't been able to see me but it doesnt mean I haven't been keeping up with the sales debates and figures. I'm sorry if I've taken this a bit to personally but post count is by no means a measurement of how experienced you are or how much you know.

I could just as easily argue that certain members of this site that have thousands of posts have no clue what they're talking about.

true posts dont have to do with anything, but when someone says that the post of another is completly wrong without showing proof you have to do something.

How would i be able to show proof about.... what will happen ...in the future ??The guy made a prediction and my prediction is that he will be proven wrong.

I think that kinect will be huge and push an insane ammount of 360s, esp. in NA, and  since the launch week of GT5 is the same with the launch week of kinect (in NA ) i believe that the ammount of 360s sold in NA in that week (which i believe will be huge, much bigger than the reach bump) will be more than enough to counter the European&Japanese ps3 GT5 bump in that week. So even in GT5 launch week there's a very  good chance that the 360 will outsell the ps3. After that week there won't even be a comparison, the 360 will destroy the ps3 for the rest of 2010.

so your saying that by the end of this gen 50% of the 360 userbsae will be casuals?

Wow, somebody is way overestimating Kinect.  A bigger boost than Reach??  Reach had 2 million preorders vs. about 136k for Kinect at this point.  As for the holidays, it will be Wii > PS3 = 360.

Some of the comments in these threads.... Well. HD sales are nowhere near great, or even good. Everything that follows here is fact:

PS3 is doing horribly - yes it's up 9% vs. last week (has to, since Move is now in more territories), but despite Move, it is still DOWN 35% YOY .

While up YOY a little, the effect of the redesign and Halo  for 360 is wearing off - 360 is DOWN 29% from last week.

Wii is down 10% YOY and down 1% from last week. This "down" pales vs. the above. But I guess what makes many posters' day is that "their" console/s sell more for a given week (or month. or year. or always) than the Wii. I find this rather sad.

This is by far the worst comment in the whole thread.
Too many insane statements to reply to.

Have fun in the comming weeks though when the Wii will be down nearly 66% YOY EVERY WEEK.

Please come back with your ideas about sales success and fail next week. I'm sure we'll all have a lot of fun.

Anyhow, unless it furtherly drops significantly, Wii is by no means in trouble, its lowest weekly sales are a lot higher than the lowest sales either PS3 or XB360 had in the past. And Wii's family friendlyness and holidays line-up will ensure it Xmas victory as usual. And unless Nintendo have world domination paranoid dreams, it can wait until Q3 2012 before launching Wii2 without having to rush its plans. This said, Wii's overwhelming power is over, now it will keep yearly sales leadership, but with a smaller lead and being beaten weekly far more often than in the past.

Barozi and Haxxiy, oh I know all about next week, that's why I made my post. So, I got your attention, answer this - you think my post is not smart, right? Though it was factual, so do I. But I also think most Wii  is doomed posts (including by "respected" members with lots of post counts to their name) are taking the facts and ommitting whatever doesn't fit their world view. And I am certain there will be A LOT of posts next week decrying the actual death of the Wii (e.g. "just look at the YOY! Wow, I knew the Wii was down, but by so much?"). I just wanted to show the senselessness of these posts now, because next week it will be impossible, there will just be too much noise (and probably lots of bans will be handed ) .

Oh, I see your point.

You have a lot of people crying at consoles which are down by now and a lot of people defending them, but in the future, when it comes to be the turn to see their console of choice in the shithole for the former, they'll start to spin around the very same arguments they disconsider right now. And it will be turn for the later to start the attacks. But that's unfortunately how things are.

that's assuming Nintendo doesn't cut the price of the Wii, which would KILL Kinect sales

parents would see a $ 150 Wii versus a $ 300 Kinect bundle, and which one do you think they will buy?

especially in this economy

If I were Nintendo I would cut the price of the Wii and soon, it would boost Wii hardware, AND destroy the launch of Kinect!

and besides, neither Move or Kinect has a killer app like the Wii had with Wii Sports, they have nothing like it

Sports Champions and Kinect Sports.

yes, I know about those games, but they're not in the same league as what Wii Sports meant to the Wii....

I guess you don't quite understand the concept of killer app

you think Kinect Sports has the same appeal as Wii Sports??

get real

Good start to civ 5. Will buy it soon.

Oh and Civ > FF by a LONG WAY imo.

I don't get why everyone loves to see Wii fail. Wii was beginning to bring gaming to the masses and make gaming seem "cool" and not nerdy. With the HD consoles on top, the nerd image will only be reinforced :(

I agree but it's not everyone .Ever since the wii started selling amazingly there is a ceratin stable of fanboys that has been furious with that fact but i won't mention which one.

you agree? Are you kidding me... the Wii was bringing gaming to the masses and making gaming seem cool? Do you live in another dimension? What the fuck did the PS2 AND PS1 do then? Sell over a hunderd million consoles to nerds and gamers only?
