It´s not that I cant stand change. I can´t stand how terrible some things in the new movies are. I like some things of ep 1 and 3.

edit:  I woundt complaint much if he had put more effort in making them better. they were just ok. they just feel like milking to me

edit 2: again the additions were just milking. they were fine as they were. it´s like if they  re-released jurasic park with more dinosaurs or someting

I disagree. The additions enhanced the blandness of the originals. The movie was getting 'dated' even though it was far ahead of its time. The enhanced explosions just look more realistic. The additional life forms seem better fit for a universe full of life. The only part of any of the changes I dislike are the two that actually seems stupid and detract from the story.

1. When Han steps on the freaken lord of the crime empire, i.e. Jabba. That's just stupid and unrealistic for someone begging for his life.

2. When they put young anakin in the end of ep 3 in place of old anakin when everyone else was old. Just stupid.

Other than that the rest clearly enhanced the experience with a better set of visuals as well as better descriptions of the worlds.

I won't be watching the first 3 unless they also make them into good films, but A New Hope and Empire should be interesting in 3D assuming Lucas can refrain from further mucking about with perfectly fine, highly rated films in ways that are detrimental.

I'm guessing the first 3 will be easier to convert, given much of their content seemed to have come from a hard drive anyway.  Converting the OT should be an interesting challenge, though.

edit: did we really ned midiclorians?

Yes. Its a legitimate explanation to why some are 'strong with the force' and others are not. Its not a religion as Han incorrectly labelled it. Its based on real physics and direct connection to all living things via chemicals within your body. (granted I know this is all fiction but in a SW world I would have scientific argument going)

I do agree that the enhancements were great like the explosions and I think the sound was enhanced too which was great but those two things that you mention are just so bad that really hurt them for me.

I can deal with the scene of han stepping on jabba on ep 4. ep 5 is fine enhanced. but the scene with Christensen at the end of ep 6 just really annoyed me. It´s not that I don´t like the enhancements it´s just that that scene really makes me feel the milking and was completely unnecesary. I don´t hate the enhancements, but I really HATE that last scene

Ok Hayden at the end of Return of the Jedi is a bit odd. But one must understand the whole concept of Anakin coming back as himself when he was good.  That is what he looked like the last time he was with the "light side", he would not come back scarred.  Your luminous appearance is more of a reflection of yourself, not a real thing, otherwise why would they have their robes on??  Anakin never really had a self projection as an old man, by then he was "more machine than man"...but I digress.

I sincerely hope the 3D conversion is a great one.

Disagree. He was good when he picked up the Emporer and threw him to his death. He was good when he took off his helmet to look at Luke. He shoudl have kept is older self as that is what he would have been logically upon death. That part should have just been left alone as its clearly not an enhancement.

True.  He was good at that point.   I agree that it is not an enhancement at all.  I personally don't care for the change, it was perfect before, but I don't hate the change either, at least I don't feel that my childhood was raped.

But I think I understand why Lucas made the change.  Anakin might have been good at the end of his life, but he never saw himself as an old man.  He would not recognize himself in the mirror.  All he ever saw was a scarred face, if he ever cared to look at himself without the mask.  So, my take is Lucas feels that your spirit is a reflection on how you see yourself.  Anakin only remembers his good self young.

Let's see what happens in 2017 though, maybe the 3D version goes back to the original.  Or the change may even be in the blu ray release.

Well I'll be skipping the Phantom Menace but sign me up from Attack of the Clones to Return of the Jedi!

Only episode 1/2 of episode 3, episode 4, episode 5, and the opening sequence of episode 6 are any good. That doesn't even equate to half of the saga.

Wah! Wah! Wah!

All people ever do is bitch about the prequels. Get the fucking stick out of your ass. No one cares about your whiny ass opinions. Many people enjoy the prequels. Just because you think something sucks, doesn't mean it actually does. Instead, focus on something that is legitmately a piece of shit. Like all the Halloween movies not made by John Carpenter. Or The Conduit.
