I would agree with most people here and add Metal Gear solid 4. It still looks amazing even though its 3 years old! Great game also but be prepared for long cut-scenes...
Demons souls & Uncharted 2 are absolutely necessary - as a lot of people here are saying.
Games that you should get over time are Uncharted 1, Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, God of war 3 & Valkyrie Chronicals.
You should probably add up the amount each game is mentioned in this thread and get them in that order!

Dude forget about everybody I'm the man to ask since I have a wii ps3 and I've been playing on the 360 since I got Reach.
InFamous why?why!?play the damn demo thats why the game its like GTA...wait!GTA SUCKS NOW!!!thats true but I mean by the free roam think of it like this... Assassins Creed 2 banged GTA and got shocked along the way.
Uncharted 1 AND 2!there isn't really much about it (story wise)play the game its like Gears of War banged Jak and Daxter in a Jungle!
Killzone 2 I know I know,360 satisfies my FPS taste BUT Killzone 2 is more than a FPS think of it this way Halo's younger bro banged Call of duty younger sister and born was Killzone 2!

Heavy Rain its like a movie!!ZOMG!?Its like God of war cutscenes got taken to Steve Hawkins labatory and he was like wtf!?Pale ass mother****** and he added a great story too it with a dash LIFE OR DEATH.
God Of War 3 why!?you played 1 and 2 thats why!Think of it this way...they made 1 and 2 suck so that 3 would be unbelievably good!

You should definitely get Little Big Planet and God of War 3. There are many other awesome games, but you should start with these.
PixelJunk Eden and PixelJunk Monsters are two excellent games on the platform that are available for under $10 each. Eden is a great take on the platforming genre, has a demo, and is my favourite PSN title to date. Monsters is an excellent co-op tower defense game that's worth checking out as well, especially if you have someone to play with.
