I think they are saving it for Wii 2 and are currently changing it to be a part in the Wiimote2.

I hope it gets released because it would be the best thing to happen to the horror genre in quite a while.

I think it'll still come out, but may not be a game changer so Nintendo will release it probably in the Spring instead of the holiday season.

Don't forget Wii Music was 'dead' for a while too.    Before it's release that is...

dead? no

put on hold? possibly

Nintendo said that it was going to be out ASAP after E3 (it was in an investor relations slide show back in January or so, but I can't find the link right now). That never happened. I'm thinking that someone decided to can the project.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Missed opportunity. It could have been huge in a way that Wii Fit was only the precursor to

Haha, good one... I guess it had some time, at least!

Anyway, we have no idea what they're planning for the Wii for next holiday. Seeing as how this holiday's lineup seems reasonably packed, I wouldn't be surprised if they just saved it for the second half of next year. After all, much of their attention will need to be on the 3DS for the next couple years, leaving less time for the aging Wii...

It could just be set up as the Wii's last hurrah, before the successor the year after (I assume)

yeah maybe dead. I mean how much more would they hold it? We're already hearing rumors of Wii 2, and really it's Wii's 5th holidays. Unless they release it next year first half, and hear info really soon, then it just might be dead.

Next E3 it shall Surface.

Above: still the best game of the year.
