Modern Warfare 2 for PS3 did over 3.2 million first week, so Black Ops needs to have a 25% bigger opening week to beat that of Reach. I think it's possible.

I'm not impressed with black ops at all..and I am passing on the purchase all together.

And with the aforementioned Medal of Honor, Modern Warfare 2 and countless other cookie-cutter FPSes all set in modern times aping the current Middle-Eastern conflict, already it seems were ready for a change

Well Black Ops late 70s, early 80s cold war setting seems very appropriate and particularly time, especially given that the 80s have seen something of a revival lately
What we’ve seen of Black Ops so far is reminiscent of classic films such as Apocalypse Now, The Deer Hunter, Rambo and Commando, really evocative moments in cinema that have largely been untouched by games and I think its about time they were explored

Treyarch head Mark Lamia has said that the game is 'epic in scope', being focused around a story that 'has meaning and character and will be multi-threaded'. Perhaps more of an indication that Treyarch will be giving the Cold War an ambiguous, mutli-sided treatment?

CoD: BO is using the same full-actor motion-capture technology as Avatar. That means that not just gestures, but whole performances are captured, right down to facial expressions and line delivery. Expect some serious emoting this time around.

It looks like Treyarch is following Modern Warfare's lead in terms of big action movie set-pieces. Cliff-diving and rappelling through windows are already in.

Combat Theater

Modes and Co-op

The only new game modes in MW2 were Spec Ops and Barebones. Nothing really new there, just co-op missions that you could play with 1 friend. Now unlike MW2 Black Ops will have six new game modes. Two will be well thought reiterations and the rest will be completely new and are certainly going to entertain you to death. The two reiterations will be Barebones playlists. One of the playlists named classic TDM will have no attachments and kill streaks will be set at 3-5-7. The other mode dubbed Pure Barebones will remove all the players attachment, perks, and killstreaks. We also have a unnamed co-op mode that has yet to be announced. The return of Nazi Zombies is there for player s who buy the Prestige and Hardened Editions of the game. Then there are the wager modes (Sticks and Stones, One in the Chamber, Gun Game). These are the best additions as they are really gonna make some great competitive gameplay.

Split Screen

Call of Duty: Black Ops will be the first in the franchise to feature a two player splitscreen multiplayer as well as a offline combat training mode.

Yes now even you Drath can enjoy the attack dog perk with one bite it can kill the enemy

Reasons to buy it on PS3 over 360

Just look at the box arts notice that the PS3s looks more natural b/c of the black banner this thing was made to be purchased on the PS3, also you can always enjoy all the online MP features on PS3 for free

The answer is I do know, and you evidentally think for some reason that 'If YOU beleive someone doesnt know then they don't... thats called delusion.. Obviosly Im a halo fan so Ive read alot more then just at VGChartz..

There were a couple post on the forums about Reach's expectations, One was first week sales expectations alone..and I beleive one was lifetime..

' Some' fans said it would sell better then Halo 3 ( and Reach did this & holds the record for an exclusive now ! ) ..So some said it would be more, but many ( Id say mostly PS3 spoil-sports ) were saying it would do much less - more like ODST sales - and they said this because they assumed ODST was a trend of Halo sales going down, instead of the truth - Which is ODST was an expansion not based on the Super Human Characters "Spartans" Which everyone plays in multiplayer..

Fact is any game based on the traditional Spartans is probably going to sell very strong for quite some time because FPS are in .. and Halo has a great storyline..

Back to the orginal answer I already gave - COD BO XB360 might sell alittle more then Halo Reach the first week, but not the PS3 version.  Halo Reach is now the exclusive record holder ( sold 4.1 million in its first 5 days), overtaking Halo 3 ( sold 3.7 million in 1st week) .. It'll probably hold that record for awhile.. maybe even till next gen consoles are out..

lol again you fail. most of the predictions of people where in the mid 4 millions or high 4 millions, it did sell more then halo 3 but their were thousands of posts saying that its going to beat mw2 and their was a thread about the fw of reach outselling mgs4 which is at 4.9.

lol ps3 fans said it would do odst numbers, you hit it right on the spot!!! yes their are the fanboys from both sides, and their is a chance that some fanboys said it would do like odst, but in the past 6 months i barely saw people say that reach will trend like odst, bhr and others used odst to say that halo reach wont outsell halo 3 lifetime but they never compared it to odst, they also used odst in gt5 vs reach threads, but that is something else.

i dont care about halo reach's record, point it halo fans were disapointed, heck even i a SONY FAN was disapointed because i expected more.  yo_jhon one of the biggest halo fans said that he expected more, and obviously reach halo_reach and ihugi were way off their 5 million fw sales. reach sold great, but many people were disapointed.
