So I've had the Move since Monday, I've yet to pick up a game yet but have played all of the available Move demos to get a feel for the device and what I'd like to play on it.
From a plain and simple design aspect the move is NOT a Wii remote, it does not follow the same design philosophy, and it's very apparent.
I know a lot of people like myself was confused about the Nav controller having motion or not, this is a big fat no, any real reason for this? Not really its 10 dollars more than a nunchuck and I would gladly take a simple cord between the controllers (which limits nothing) if it would reduce costs and allow them to add motion controls. Since Nav is a wireless device this also means 4 players cannot have both a Move and a Nav at the same time since the PS3 limits you to 7 devices at once.
Now that a couple of the big questions are out of the way I'll go into the meat of the impressions.
Some of the good stuff:
Move does tracking in a 3D space really well, something the Wii remote cannot do, this works well for games like Tumble, you're picking up blocks and stacking them, it's simple and it shows off what the remote does well.
The Move controller is less likely to get off center than the Wii remote with Wii motion plus, it still happened in Tumble but I had to move a lot and it wasn't as off as WM+ has gotten with some things like Sword Fighting on Wii Sports Resort.
Table Tennis with the Move is pretty fun, its got a little more that you can do vs Table Tennis on WSR, this makes it a little less accessible, but might be for those that want a little more.
Some of the disappointing stuff:
Since I went over the Nav not having motion I won't go on much more but that's a big missed opportunity since to have two motion controllers you have to give up your analog stick
Launch library, simply put there just isn't anything that stands out and sometimes it's just really rough, King Fu Rider fits in this category, Eye Pet being the best game so far but you can tell it started out as an PS Eye game, I feel I might buy Sports Champions first simply for Gladiator, you can't get a demo and Sword Fighting is my favorite WSR game.
Pointer controls, this is by far my biggest complaint, this is from the perspective of someone who has used the Wiis pointer for years and that pointer is so intuitive and just really tight so going to this is like night and day. On Move it's based on the gyroscope inside the controller, with Tumble in particular you have to turn your wrist/controller 90 degrees left or right to point at the edges of the screen, making a full 180 degrees of range, on Sports Champions its less but still way too wide of range and could be tightened up so much. One particular issue when the controller did get off center after a LOT of motion the pointer was also off with it because it is gyro based.
REALLY minor complaint, there is a couple of frames of noticeable lag, not a deal breaker by any means, don't want people blowing this point up, but it's simply there, might be something fixable with an update, it's likely cause the camera is also being factored into processing since you don't get it when in the home menu and the camera isn't tracking the controller. The Wii solved this problem by building in the camera into the controller and having the controller handle all that, but it's not affected gameplay so far so why care?
If you want a personal ranking from the demos:
Recommended
Eye Pet
Sports Champions
Recommended if its your thing
Tumble
Not Recommended
King Fu Rider
Racquet Sports
RUSE
(for some reason Planet Minigolf didn't let you use the Move in its demo even though the demo is in the Move section on PSN)

you could turn the camera away or turn the controller towards you and it works the same.
