@Pavolink

Back in the day GTA4 didn't affect Wii sales on launch week, I doubt Halo Reach/Move would

@Leo

I'm skeptical......Wii always rises up in the holidays

Wii is Helium while DS is Hydrogern, 360 to be Neon this holiday?

IMO DS is Platinum, PS3 is a 24 Karat gold and Xbox 360 is 23 Karat Gold!

Then they wouls sink a lot since those are dense metals.

lol yeah but am assosciating the metals with their games library quality!

Wii is copper.....lol jk jk

I'd say Wii is bronze in comparison, PSP is plastic (j/k j/k again lol)

anyway OT:

@Leo

you haven't answered my queries yet.....

I don't think it will happen but you could be close. Wii Party is releasing within the next two weeks, which probably won't boost sales too much initially but over time it should stall the decline somewhat, however in 4 weeks we'll have Just Dance 2, which is more likely to boost sales immediately, especially in Europe, and Kirby's Epic Yarn. Then in November the games start piling in with DKCR, Goldeneye, Micheal Jackson, Epic Mickey and others.

Move didn't even do much in it's launch week, best case scenario it will be like the typical Wii evergreen and start pushing PS3's a few weeks after release, ie. once the Wii software has already started coming in.

Even so, between now and Just Dance 2 most of the weeks could go to PS3, and you might get one or two more afterwards.

I think you place too much faith in Just Dance 2. I don't expect much there.

Still, I also think this prediction will end up badly wrong.

Just Dance was the only explanation for the rise in Wii sales in Europe in the early parts of this year (Wii was down YoY in Europe first but then rose to being up YoY as Just Dance sales got going). We're talking about a title that has sold 4 million in less than a year as a brand new IP, something which can easily be expanded upon in a sequel with new tracks. Remember that even the first Guitar Hero only sold 2.2 million, and that led on to the ~15 million selling GH3. In fact, Just Dance is already bigger than GH2.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Sequels do not tend to do as well on the Wii, is all I am saying.

I'm not so sure that's a general law. I think it's true for games that are not easily expanded upon. With something like Tiger Woods for example, minor improvements in addition to new courses etc. may not be enough to sell another version, if the original game 'does the job' and a sequel isn't necessary. However, if something is easily expanded upon, then I don't see any reason why that should apply. And dancing is, because the content is the music, which means there's tonnes more content that will still have appeal.

The only danger is that if they overdo it, dancing games will get tired in a matter of years. This will undoubtedly happen, but not quite yet.

I feel this is possible now!

No mention of Wii software...Hmm, I would bet the house Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Wii Party, and Epic Mickey allow the Wii torch anything, Gran Turismo 5 and multi-platform titles included, the PS3 can deliver these holidays. Regarding multi-platform titles, I will be looking at PS3 sales of them exclusively. Adding in 360 numbers is disingenuous because multi-platform titles always sell better on the 360, while the PS3 versions piggyback off of them to add up to the total.

7 out of 14? I am thinking 2 out of 14, which will be the first 2 weeks of Gran Turismo 5. Every week thereafter is Nintendo's to lose, which could happen, but with the Wii holiday lineup there is a slim chance of it not happening.

i think it's possible, but we will have to watch out for donkey kong and epic mickey, those are two wild cards the wii has, but if wii does not outsell ps3 by gt5 time, it's game over baby

my prediction is coming true
