Wii>PS3

Wii Sports Resorts>Sports Champions

Seriously, is there anyone who still thinks that the Wii must sell like de previous years? Wii has sold over 73 mill. It´s the fastest selling console ever, even more than DS and PS2. Have 10mill sellers and 20mill sellers: Wii Sports Resorts, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Wii Play, Mario Kart Wii. Has the record for more consoles sold at one month (holiday 2009).

This is the 5th holiday season for Wii, almost everyone has one at our house. Should I buy 2 Wii's only for good sales? Wii is a great hardware and is approaching to the final. Is normal to see a decline.

When PS3 and Xbox360 sells over 73mill, with 10 and 20mill sellers, and have sales records, then we'll see how much they sell on a week and compare to Wii sales.

Ive just noticed that the Wii is in danger of falling below its 2007 sales year to date... meaning thsi year will be its worst year since launch.

It's now about 400k above 2007 on a comparable YTD, 3.5m down on 2008 and 300k down on 2009.

What did it do from now to end of year same time in 07? (not at my computer so can't check)

2007 - 7.2m

2008 - 10.8m

2009 - 11.7m

So it will likely beat 2007 in the end...

or will it... it is now tracking lower on a weekly basis than 2007.

This week in 2007 - 211,179... It wont get anywhere near that this week.

Interesting.

I wonder if Nintendo will drop the price 2 years in a row, something Sony and Microsoft havn't even done themselves.

Yeah they just do it 3 years in a row or more than once in a year

August 6, 2007

Price Cut on Xbox 360 Premium (20 GB) - $349.99

Price Cut on Xbox 360 Core - $279.99

Price Cut on Xbox 360 Elite - $449.99

September 5, 2008

Price Cut on Xbox 360 Elite - $399.99

Price Cut on Xbox 360 (60 GB) - $299.99

Price Cut on Xbox 360 Arcade - $199.99'

August 28, 2009

Discontinuation of Xbox 360 (60 GB) (Price Cut to $249.99 for remaining stock)

Price Cut on Xbox 360 Elite - $299.99

When I find the history of the PS3's price cuts I'll add those but I believe it was last year it had 2 in a year or maybe 08, flat out that claim ain't true.

Wow you are actually including clearence sales as price drops . The only company that has been aggressive with price drops is Sony . MS has dropped the price of each xbox360 model 100$ in 5 years, Sony has dropped the price of ps3 300$ in 4 years.

Are you really counting SKU clearances as price cuts? Seriously, those aren't the same as a straight up price cut, and you know it. Stop being intentionally misleading.

with all the giant predictions about reach having a record breaking week, and about it giving the 360 250k to 350k boost i really expected more.

If it sold 500k you would still say you were expecting more.

no.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Reach was great 4 million is a ton for any game but couldn't a quarter of you find it in your hearts to buy something like Alan Wake or Mass Effect 2 I mean seriously oh well in a few weeks you will once again pass on those great games and spend all your money on Yet Another Call of Duty. Oh well it is your money but just know all you genre racists out there life is more than FPS.

Hey now, I bought them all!

yes but you are the man CGI

great 360 number as always

Different skus and discontinuations are bound to see different prices, however you have a point given the elite cutting price, didn't realise it ever cost that much, wow.

I still wonder if it's something Nintendo will do, at least Microsoft and Sony don't make ridiculous claims about how price cuts hurt the industry.
