Forums - Nintendo Discussion - More 3ds specs leaked

And if that holds true (which we don't yet completely yet since this is a leak and not official), that would suggest the 3DS can do more per pixel than the Xbox can.

Which also puts it right in line with statements that it is almost as capable as the Wii itself (with better graphical diversity).

True, I guess lets see how devs utilize its capabilities.

I really don't know why I expected it to be better...its Nintendo after all. They stick to gaming only and very little other multimedia stuff... Mario, Zelda and Metroid are fun games no matter how much bandwith your video card has.  :)

3DS is much more powerfull than ps360. Because it can 3D without stupid glasses and without expensive TV. That's its true power, not an amount of GBs in the storage.

Different strokes for different folks.

You can enjoy the 3.5 inch 3D screen on  the 3DS without glasses. I like mine on a 92 inch projector screen I have at home, with glasses...

Edit: Oh, and the conclusion on the internets (ie forums where people go to do nothing but discuss computer parts) is that the Tegra gets shown up by the video chip announced for the 3DS

Show me, I want to see...

Also, looks like the Xbox 1 GPU edges the 3DS gpu slightly in fill rate and triangles per second. Wikipedia specs for each as source...

Yeah, you are right actually that the xbox gpu has the 3DS one beat. I think the processor story will be different. Oh well, much smaller screen leads to vastly superior looking games for the 3DS - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr3bvrvJYyo

And I suggest you look into glassesless 3D technology btw. It does not infact halve the framerate, as the PS3's 3d tech does. It halves the number of columns that are displayed for each image, and thus to display in the max possible resolution in both screens and in 3D for the 3D one, it still only needs to push out 76% as many pixels/second as the Wii.

Glassesless tech works the same as polarized glases tech, except the polarization happens on the screen and not on the glasses. Its a form of interlacing, so I agree, frame rate doesn't have to be halved. However the console does need to render all the lines even if 3D is turned off by the user.

I guess time will tell when the games do start coming out. So far we've seen PS2/N64 ports and some impressive technical demos by capcom... I am hoping that you are right and that 3DS is one powerful machine to be honest. But the specs so far don't indicate its a generation ahead of Xbox or wii.

I never said it was a generation ahead of the xbox or wii (I don't think I did at least, if I did quite it and show me up :P)

That looks great. It prolly is just an in game cutscene tho... Gameplay is what we need. :)

"The images since the game's E3 unveiling have all been real time rendered on the 3DS development hardware. It seems as though people didn't believe us at first, but we'd like you to know that the 3DS is capable of this level of expressive power."

Jun Takeuchi, head of technical research and development for Capcom. Here is more on Capcom's MT Framework Mobile for 3DS.

These specs are way too low for what the hardware is showing unless Nintendo and Capcom divulged some bullshots. It does not compare well even towards the 6-year old PSP. Unless, of course, there's much more packed under these designs and clock rates than it seems at first.

There is, according to viper1.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
