Well I just bought Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition and noticed that it was R18.

This confused me somewhat as I thought Nintendo refused to allow R18 games to be sold for their consoles. So are there any other R18 games released anywhere? Does your region matter as to Ninty releasing games that are rated R18?

 Im in New Zealand by the way.

As far as I know, all three console-makers has the same rules: no AO-rating in the United States, no games indexed by BPjM or games without USK-rating in germay. Games rated USK18 in germany are OK for all three, I saw some of them, even for the DS.

Wow NZ has a R rating for games, Australia dont.

australia desperately needs a better rating system. i could be wrong but arent the majority of gamers now over 18. why dont we get a choice of what games we play. instead we get some suit in canberra deciding if we are allowed to play a certain game or not

re4's rated MA15+ in australia. i always thought the OFLC did the ratings for NZ and aus? thats weird.

Yep Aus rating system is broken, they need the rating to be the same as movies and books and have R rating for games. 

Funny the only place you can buy X rated porn is in the ACT where all the pollies are.

the rating system doesn't really bother me. most of the games that get R ratings in other countries just get squeezed into the MA15+ category. i'll start caring about it when an actual decent game gets refused classification.
