How the fuck does this guy even have permission to speak? How can he say something that stupid?!

Ok, I can translate that for you

CEO of company presents his company's products in a positive light and his competitors and their products in a poor light.

How is this newsworthy, shocking, or anything?

Anyone who know just a little about the gaming industry should be able to discredit him for those statements, and hopefully his investors know just a little about the industry. Not to mention that he is basically insulting any potential future partners of theirs out there.

If that isn't stupid, then I don't know what is.

You may be right, and certainly in an ideal world, this jerk would get his comeuppance. But I highly doubt that will happen here.

Investors go to the strong company, not the nice one. Kotick presents his company as being ahead of all the other video game companies, and shows the company's plan for the future. Investors will lap it up.

Insulting any future partners matters not, because all the heads of video game companies understand that he is just slinging mud to improve his company's position. Sure, the 1% of companies who decide who to work with based on who they agree with morally will avoid Activision because of this (they already would have so even that is no loss) but the 99% who go where the money is will just see this as a strong advertising campaign, and will be more likely to join Activision, in order to get such marketing behind them, as opposed to against them.

And pissing off players is also not an issue. Almost all gamers who frequent forums/video game news sites already hate Activision with a passion, and yet still buy their products. I certainly hate Activision (not for their marketing) and yet still play Wow, I'll buy Starcraft II when all 3 campaigns can be purchased for a decent price.

As always, but it still pisses me off how almost no one in the industry gives a crap about how this business is run. I doubt Bobby will be told to tone it down by the powers that be, but damn would I like to see it...

What's beautiful of PC world, is that everybody is useful and nobody necessary, who becomes too arrogant and/or sits on his laurels can be blown away by brilliant outsiders.

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")
A fart without stink is like a sky without stars.

i will laugh when a independent developer makes a game that destroys a major Acti franchise and cost them mega millions

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

bungie is the most overrated developers who made overrated halo games (except CE)

COD and halo were just made for 12 year kids.

All co. Kotick mentions are better than Bungie
