And again, Motion Plus didn't have WSR when it launched... it had EA and Sega games. So what's the problem? |
Everyone knew WSR was coming, it's still a killer app. It's the game Nintendo had used to showcase the WMP with too.

Are people comparing Move and Motion Plus?
And are people still accusing Sony of copying Nintendo?
It has to stop.

afaik, Ninokuni doesn't support Move.
If I had a PS3, I'd get Move for RE5 though.

Sixaxis was not intended to counter the Wii. Everyone just hated the Boomerang controller, and Sixaxis is nothing like free-motion. It's tilt sensing. |
OMG!!!! ok w/e makes you happy. I'm not going to discuss with someone who is blind x_X
Sixaxis was clearly a pathetic and desparate attempt to get on board of the motion controllers hype the wii was getting.
But if you believe Sony was planning to do that all along... well, I have actually nothing to say to you sir. Good day
03/10/09 HUGE day in my life:

But Sports Champions is practically the same thing, just less polished and with an uglier artstyle. Comparing launch lineups, I'd say Move might actually have the edge overall.
And WSR came with a MP unit. Why would people even buy Motion Plus ahead of time then?

Sports Champions is a new IP, WSR is the sequel to the best selling game of all time, not exactly "the same thing". I don't know how it all comes together, but I refuse to believe that it was carried entirely by two tennis titles for a month until WSR came out.

It doens't matter what you or anyone else says. The Move will always be a "copy" of Nintendo's Wii controller with WM .
It looks the same, it feels the same and it does the same things and it came out second. End of story.
Sure, it works differently and maybe Sony has been working on this since the PS1 days (or whatever timeframe you want to believe) but that hardly matters in the grand scheme of things. You ask the average person they will say the Move is a copy of the Wii controller. Sure, you can get technical and point out how it isn't a copy, but this is like arguing with your average person that Black isn't a color...
Besides, they should be compared. This is like saying we shouldn't comapre the Wii and PS3 because the PS3 does HD and blu-ray.

Of course nobody wants the Move. For a starter, nobody's heard of the Move, and on top of that, it has two-half decent games and nothing which would really warrant a purchase for the majority of people. For now. |
It had plenty of television ads, pre-orders have been pushed for months now, and they even had midnight openings...
What else could they have done? Go door to door?

Two tennis games and a golf game. I think a hockey game came out before WSR too.
And again, WSR doesn't even factor when MP launched, no one could buy it and if they were planning to buy it ever, they didn't need to buy MP at launch since it was known to be bundled with all copies of WSR. Sure, people buy platforms based on the promise of future releases (hell, that's basically how PS3 sold itself year 1), but Move has attractive games in the pipe too (LBP2, KZ3, SOCOM4, etc). And honestly, I've no clue how MP started out sales wise, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Move actually did more...
very meh for me, i will wait too see how long it takes to hit a million in sales and how much its sales are over a weekly/monthly basis. before i will comment further on wether its any kind of success. the way it will be a success is through the games and word of mouth, also if every company who makes games for it, doesnt just add the motion controls on as a after thought. because if that happens the "move" will be the next failure for sony.
