Interesting. Do you have an example of the $10 version your talking about? And are you thinking of something that you would use live like a JD, or something you would use for recording music?

the $10 app is called iLift and it is free, but it is restricted to importing 3 songs at a time. For unlimited imports there is an in-app purchase for 10 dollars.

The $15 app is called Amazing Slow Downer and there is a free version, which allows unlimited imports, but only allows you to play the first 1/4th of the song. the full version plays the full song, as you might guess.

The apps are'nt that large, under 6 Megabytes, so I don't think it is very complex, but I could be wrong.

It's supposed to be for musicians who want to listen to music slower (or faster) so they can contentrate on certain parts more easily, or to make it easy to transcribe music, or to study techniques. But I use it to play with my music. I make it really fast, or really slow. It's also fun to change the pitch and make it really low or really high-pitched.

One of my colleagues at Uni had a good idea the other day about an alarm that woke you up not based on time, but on location obtained via GPS. So if you slept on a train or bus, it woke you up when you arrived at your destination, as opposed to the time you estimate you will get there. You could work that into an app.
