say goodbye to UAVs, Chopper support, Airstrikes, Claymores, Flash gernades, Stun gernades blah blah etc. etc.

Man, they should just make a continuation of CoD4. Its a near perfect game, why mess with it? It makes no sense.

If you actually took a minute to read the thread you would see the explanation as to why this is.  Infinity Ward isn't doing the next game, because their development cycle is longer than the window Activision seems to want to allow for the release of a new CoD game.  As a result a different development studio is going to kick one out while Infinity Ward continues development on another game, which will in all likelihood not be going back to WW II.

In other words, Call of Duty is going back to the 75%-85% range of its predecessors, in Call of Duty 5... Oh well... At least Call of Duty 4 beat Halo 3 on Game Rankings...

I'm happy they are taking it back to WWII.

I'd like to see a different take on it, though. The best WW2 game I've played in the last 5 years has been Red Orchestra (Eastern Front, Russia vs Germany).

I always liked this beta preview of it

I can't imagine how awesome this game would be all DX10 multi core processor pimped out.

American civil war FTW real old skool shooter.

-UBISOFT BOYCOTT!-

Hopefully the meant World War III not world war II, it is a simple typo

I am really sick of storming random cottages in the French countryside (in CoD Big Red One and 3) and frankly it does not have a particually gripping story. I might be interested in it if they did some levels in the Pacific, and added some naval combat or anything to change the mix of the game, but I still am unlikely to buy this game in any case.

I wasn't a fan of COD3. Neither was Infinity Ward. During an office visit to Infinity Ward, Game Informer said the game files on their PCs were slugged "COD3.exe"

Yes, Infinity Ward did COD2 - awesome and COD4 - even better ... they should go near future, or take on a singular form, like SOCOM - they did an excellent job on the final airline hostage mission. That and the gunship mission were my favorite ones.

What do you mean by singular form

I didn't get the hostage mission, it was fun, but it made no sense.

I'm glad another company is making CoD5, IW fucked up big time with CoD4, 600p, shitty online, 5-6 hour story mode, plus CoD4 looks like shit compared to other games.

You are joking right? The online is slighty dodgy in terms of setting up, but once you are in a game, there is very little lag and it is incredibly fun.

Little lag?  You are joking right, i have played the game more then you and i have seen lag in 90% of the games i have played.  I have a great connection, the game just sucks, plus the constant errors and the retarded online that is 100x worse then RFoM.

resistence is a mediocre shooter at best. how can you even compare it to COD4?
