Really sorry for your loss. I lost my two childhood dogs in my first two years when I'd left to university... it was tough.

Actually, only the first two were puppies. The other two were grow ups already.

Damn I'm sorry to hear that, that is trulyl a shame. I was 8/9 when my first dog died and I was really sad too.

16 years is a great life though. The dog I have now is 10 and I hope he can last 16 years like your dog did!

No that she died, you only have to try on the good times and leave the bad times in the past.

16 years is such a long time for any dog. My oldest dog died a little over a year ago, I believe it was a heart failure due to his extreme fear of fireworks. We found him dead on July 5th, he was 15 years old. His name was Bear, he looked like your normal Teddy Bear when we first brought him home as a puppy after finding hi on my grandmother's porch.

We have 2 dogs left now, one of which is soon to be 11 (Rotweiler/Chow mix, left in my backyard by a mailman who though he was ours) and a 6 year old Pomeranian, which I bought for my mother. I know the oldest one, his name is Obie, is going to go within the next couple of years. Arthritis is catching up to him super fast. The 6 year old, named Gizmo, has legs issues and problems with his trachea, which are common with his breed, but I expect him to last 10-11 years at most.

I know how hard it is. My first dog was killed by my asshole neighbors. My first dog Bandit was poisoned and ended up choking himself and then being put to sleep, while her mother Jessie died the night before. All because they barked a ton one night.

Nothing ever happened to those neighbors. The murdered my dogs and got away with it.
