Conclusion: Fucking awesome!

My first thought was "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! It runs on the Unreal Engine 3!!!" and unfortunately it's pretty clear to see in the graphics. *sadness*

On the upside, the game made me totally forget about that after I had played a little while, because it's really sweet. Very cinematic, very good action and pretty looks (despite the UE3 and a few crude animations). Day 1.

Heavily, heavily inspired by Uncharted 2. I remember in an interview the co-founder of ninja theory and director of this game saying that in his opinion Uncharted 2 was the best game of this generation but unfortunately it came out too soon to have an impact on Enslaved. Bullshit. It came out a year ago which was plenty of time to add an influence to the game and it shows. Very cinematic and a lot of the animations when platforming remind me of drake's. You might think I'm complaining but quite to the contrary. Seeing the simularities between this and Uncharted 2 just made me add this to my day 1 must buy list. Any game that reminds me of the best game ever is good enough for my cash.

You know that Uncharted 2 isn't the only game they could have drawn inspiration from, right? Like Uncharted 1 for example.

Uncharted 1 didn't have the cinematic flair that Uncharted 2 did. And what made the big difference? The camera angles and how they were incorperated into big epic scenes. I'm not saying that scenarios or gameplay were stolen from Uncharted 2 by enslaved. Only that they obviously went back and incorporated the cinematic camera into their action scenes after Uncharted 2 (which most def. could have been done in a years time) and maybe a few inspirations to the platforming as well.

Or maybe they came up with those themselves? Just because they've been done in Uncharted 2 doesn't mean they couldn't have come up with those themselves, and Heavenly Sword was very cinematic when they did that, so I don't find that unlikely at all.

Is it possible? Yea sure. But unlikely imo. No game before Uncharted 2 incorporated the cinematic camera in the same way as UC2. UC2 was praised by critics for the use of the cinematic camera. I don't see how it's so unbelievable to you that this inspired Enslaved, even after the Director praised that particular aspect of UC2 in an interview on gametrailers. Maybe you haven't played the demo yet but it's not just that the game incorporates cinematic moments but that they are presented almost copy and paste from similar moments from UC2. If you haven't played them both then please do and tell me if you still find it so unlikely.

Why be angry for copying Uncharted 2?

Copying a Uncharted 2 will at least lead to a better game than Heavenly Sword
