Forums - Microsoft - Kinect ALREADY outselling Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, & PS Move....WOW!

Well I'll be damned.  With about 50 days until its release Microsoft's Xbox 360 Kinect is already dominating the hardware charts on Amazon.com

Kinect is #10 already and has been holding steady there for the past week

While Amazon cannot fully portend the future, it does render a valuable tool for casual observations of trends.

At $150 bones some analysts and gamers were reticent to support Kinect.  However, it is clear microsoft will spare no expense to advertise Kinect.  These large pre-orders are happening before the heavy advertising has begun.

Sony has had great success with the ps Move as well as it has been hovering around the top 10.  But Sony recently said the PS Move is NOT a pre-order product.

It will be an interesting holiday indeed to find out if online hype will translate into huge sales for microsoft's wii challenger

Why do you hate baby seals? :(

You forgot about 3DS.

Above: still the best game of the year.

We'll see how it turns out, although I don't understand why amazon is getting used so much these days. When did amazon become a credible source for these things? Or do people just like using it despite how inaccurate it is (as has been established on these forums time and time again)?

o god....

Look at FF still up there even thought it's been out for a long time!

Wow you're pulling out two forum taboos in one thread...Posting a positive Kinect thread and using Amazon as indication of Pre-Sales (Even though it is the biggest US online retailer) are two things that generally lead to bad things.

OT: I do agree with you.  Kinect has stayed in the Top 75 on the Amazon best seller list since E3.  It does show that there has been a sustained interest in Kinect for several months.  What we don't know is how many units Amazon moves on each game and/or piece of hardware to gauge how well it truly is being received.  But for a $150 peripheral it seems to being fairing quite well when you consider all the software coming out in the next couple of months.
