Forums - Gaming - Should i buy a 360 or a Wii

Like many others in here, I'm also going to say the Wii. You have a bigger list of games that you're interested in for it, and the games on it work as a decent complement to one of the HD systems. In comparison, you say that you don't want to pay for Live, and many of the 360's games are either on the PS3 or PC already, so I don't think you'd be opening up enough options by getting one...

...unless, that is, you like the small indie games. (Think small like the PSN Minis.) This is, frankly, the area where the 360 beats all the other consoles. They have the largest selection of games there, and if a game only sounds mildly intriguing, you can check out the demo for it. Because there IS a demo. Period. This is something I wish that we'd see more of from both Sony and (especially) Nintendo.

So yeah, unless you're in the market for some little quirky games, and a lot of them, I'm going to side with the Wii.

is wii motion plus something i should get? im thinking about the sports resort bundle since it already has motion plus ... is it worth it? does it work? do i need it?

also i guess of note is my girlfriend who i wouldnt mind getting to play games with so thats another reason for the wii i got her to play a bit of ps3 with me but i can tell shes not very hardcore and i think the wii games would appeal a bit more (mario in particular)

I would say yes- both Wii Sports Resort and Red Steel 2 are really good (and show of the motion plus well), and if you want to get Skyward Sword, then it's really your only option. You can get it bundled with Red Steel 2 for around £30 now, (don't know about USD), and it's worth it just for the controller (part of the reason I bought Monster Hunter for the CC Pro)

P.S- have you come to a decision yet?

thanks for the the tip didnt about red steel.

also at this point it seems pretty unanimous and pretty much everything points towords the wii so come christmas or early 2011 i'll be getting a wii maybe sooner we'll see how the financials run

No problem- In the end it's up to you, but everyone (including me) reckons the Wii, so congrats on your new purchase (if you choose to go ahead with it!) and I hope i gives you as much happiness as it gives me.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

This is coming from a guy that owns all the consoles, I played my PS3 and Wii the most before I got a 360, it didn't change when I got a 360, so you do the math lol

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii is the easy choice. You have a 360 already and plus the Wii is a great console with an outstanding list of games with more to come. Kirby's Epic Yarn is 1 that you said and that game looks amazing and will be amazing as well. Also if you buy a Wii you should try N.P.C Pikmin!(I had to say it)

I would go with  Move.  (Being a Gaming PC / PS3 / 360 ) owner you really might not enjoy the Wii as much as you might think.  I'm assuming you have atleast a passing interest in quality graphics. The Wii looks pretty bad on an HD set as far as I'm concerned and I'm not overly into the games on the system. (I feel most are pretty heavily over-rated).

Move will give you motion controls with greater fidelity and will provide a Wii-like experience for a lower entry point for you.

The way I see it you have 2 good choices.

1. Get a Wii.

2. Wait until the next Nintendo console comes out which is not too far away and which will most likely be backwards compatable and obviously running in HD. At which point you can make a more informed decision.

If you are a hardcore only gamer get 360. If you like casual games get Wii

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Halo - that is all

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

As a PS3, Wii and 360 owner I would say buy the 360. The Wiis games are only cool if you love mario games and that gets old quickly. I have done a lot of hating on my 360, but Halo: REACH is a game not to be missed. Also the gears series and Alan  Wake are incredible.
