The point isn't that you're sephiroth, but that someone who was sephiroth could have claimed aerith, and aerith would not have been able to pop out and say "it's a lie, I'm aerith", because seph would then kill her, and the town would not have enough information to lynch either of you. (assuming sephs mission is done once he kills aerith).

However, if seph is mafia, then it wouldn't make sense to claim aerith because he would get lynched the next day.

The real Aerith would show up dead on the front page. That's.... pretty much making the whole point moot. -_-

If this is a scripted event, what's to say there isn't more? 

It wouldn't make much sense to have a character whose sole power is dying after four days.

There's nothing else I can do about it. 

And no info besides (the antagonist) Sephiroth being responsible. 

This is basically a suicide townie extended by 4 (now two) days.
