I joined during 3.0 but my favorite by far is the current version (5.0)

Actually design wise I don't have much of an issue with the current one, nor am I that bothered about the splitting into 4 (except the game page/game sales split which is awkward) it's the fact that useful features have been taken out, and a few flashy but pointless features added in.

3 of my major gripes:

- Graphing tools: I know there is a reason they have not yet returned, and that is they are being improved.... but surely it's possible to keep the old ones up? Darth has been  pestering me about when I am opening the 10 week countdown like I did the last 2 Christmasses, but being able to predict sales is a hell of a lot easier when you can properly view the past sales.

- Coloured text: The number of people who actually posted constantly in other colours was minimal so it being a blemish on the design of the site or whatever isn't really an issue, and it could easily have been moderated rather than a deleted feature. It was useful for people to be able to highlight things in quotes, and it was more useful for being able to highlight different sections in tables (not that using tables on this site has been particularly easy since mid-2007) now people are being forced into html code just to colour things... which is relatively simple for those who like posting in block colour that's different from other peoples (thus means it's not stopping people doing that) but slow and tedious for people trying to highlight table sections to make it easier for people to read.

- Right-click: Should be an option pretty much all the time tbh.

I suppose you're referring to the fact that we're unable to open new tabs for Reply/Quote/etc.?

The 3.0 version was the best of all time!!

3.0 was the best forum intigration and brought a community together

4.0 made people care about VG$ and want to fight to be on top

5.0 broke both of those... ~_n

As for me, 3.0 was the best, because i could use it on my cell phone and I loved seeing red on the left bar, made me feel special. Followed by 4.0 where I loved seeing my name on the top 10.. n__n

so when are we starting a petition, to bring the 3.0 design back? Or something more simple and modest than the piece of junk that is called 5.0. When it first launched man....It went from favourite website to absolute garbage.
