Forums - General - Where were you September 11th 2001?

I was in 10th grade and I remember some of my classmates taliking about something going on in NYC. When I got home from school and saw the TV,  it was the most shocking thing I ever saw, seeing an airplane crash into a building. I never seen so many people panic and so much chaos at the same time like that, it was unreal to me.

I was at friend's house in Toms River (NJ) and was supposed to travel to Long Island on the 11th. Obviously had to stay a few more days.

I remember I was at school about to take a history test whenever the principal walked in and told us we were under attack.  They said the trade center had been hit and if we believed in God to pray for the families and people in the buildings.  Then throughout the day the second tower got hit, and then the pentagon, and then the other plain that went down.  We were all so scared and so angry all at once.

I remember we were all discussing going to war and probably being drafted and so forth.

It was sad, and horrible, and caused so much anger all at once.  Easily one of the worst days of the modern world and I still remember crying seeing those people jumping out of the building to their deaths.

Never forget what happened on September 11th.

I was at school, I was only 14/15! I came home and switched on the TV, and it was all over the news!

I was in 8th grade.  My dad picked me up early and then had to leave after a while.  He's a retired NYPD detective now, but back then he had to drop us off, let us know what happened, and and run off into the city.  Was pretty scary.

In school some kid hada hand radio we were listening too, it was pretty nuts.

I was in Year 5.

Back then my DREAM was to go to New York and see all the big skyscrapers, most importantly The Twin Towers and the empire state bulding.

My mum came to pick me up at school and while coming home she said the Twin Towers fell down cus a plan crashed into them.

I thought she was joking because she knew how much I wanted to see them.

After getting home I was horrified and cried I think......its hard to explain how much I wanted to see those big towers, I wanted to see how tall they felt from the ground!!

A particularly sad day for me due to that.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Horribly I was having a discussion with my mom 10 minutes before about the tallest building in the world....

Everyone got picked up and I was mad because I thought my mom came to eat lunch with me.

It was my 17th birthday and I was at my parents house. Kind of ruined that day. My entire family came to celebrate my birthday, but a lot more people came together than normal to honor the dead.

I think I skipped school that day and played Dreamcast.

I was in art class, when they told us what happened, and than we watched it on television(few minutes later), when the two towers went down.

Also @ Darth, while it was something to behold, you will get more chances to see taller towers. Dubai might be the place to go soon for them.
