@lordtheknight  a huge ass billboard in NYC is not significant?? I saw commericials everyday for like a month. I saw the magazine ads for severaly different publications running for at least three months. Trust me it was significant and also it doesnt even really matter. THis is 2010 we live in the years of Hulu and viral, people dont watch TV like they used to. So of course there not going to run game ads like they did back in the 90s. Outside of a few big titles (COD, HALO, Mario)  people just didnt want that game. YOu cant use the no ads for that one

That seems to say they just ran some ads in New York. A lot of other users here can attest seeing little marketing for that game.

@lordtheknight  well I can attest to seeing alot of tv ads and alot of magazine ads. maybe it depends on the state/country??? but I saw quite a few. Im being perfectly honest too. When people say they saw no advertisment for that game I raise my eyebrows cause i saw a few. Alot of various mags this time lastyear were running it. Hell I can pick up a few and they would be right there on the back of it

I don't see why it's a given, I thought Chinatrown wars wasn't that good?

@kungkras  you have some good points, you and Hazard BUT what about now. Conduit didnt light sales on fire and dont say it was no ads cause god almigh there were some ads. Red Steel 2 is great. what happened there. Im not saying there is no audience for FPSs on Wii its just not as big as some think nowhere near that of 360/PC hell Halo is looking to sell 2 mil in one week!!! Even though Wii has double the install base an FPS wont reach that # in...hell maybe never. Hopefully 007 does close to a mil

Red Steel 2 seems like a good game with effort put into it, but it doesn't have multiplayer, and the shooting part of it doesn't seem that great. I'd buy it as a fun swordplay game, but my decent, full featured FPS with that distinctive Wii flavour doesn't excist yet.

Also, of course the FPS audience on the HD consoles is larger now. What I was saying is, that if the Wii would have gotten an FPS capable of building an audience, we would have had a very different scenario today. And, a profitable low-risk market for decent fully-featured FPS (or any other core game) exists on Wii as proven by the crap ports of CoD games we have gotten (Reflex, unlike the other ports was decent, but it still doesn't have all of the features that the HD games had it shoukd have had, the game sold very well for what it was).

I LOVE ICELAND!

Perhaps Conduit 2 and Goldeneye could do this? Heck, it happened with the N64, so why can't it happen to the Wii?

I still say local multiplayer for a great FPS will do this.

Conduit 2 seems nice. That's the kind of game I would have expected early in the Wii's lifecycle. I've heard it's got local multiplayer, if it doesn't then I'm not interrested in it.

If they make it fun and focus on the fundementals that make up a good game, then it might become that FPS that I've waited 3 years for.

@kungkras  fair enough, but honestly this whole "devs shoulda done that, and Wii owners should bought this" is pointless, focus on present and future. COD will be alright no matter where it goes. its gonna do a mil on Wii alone, so I wont feel bad for not buying that version BUT i will be getting 007 and Conduit2 those are the games that will show if the FPS crowd is there are not. IF they do bad that means there not really there. (unless they both suck bad)

We live in hope- I expect great things from these two- the Wii has already shown it can do adventure and online with Tri, now give us a Goleneye experience with...

Oh yeah.
