Forums - Gaming - Nomura dropping the ball about FF 13vs Multi Plat announcement?

Tetsuya Nomura decided out of nowhere today to Tweet about Final Fantasy Versus XIII and multiplatform development.

Wrote the Versus XIII director at The 3rd Birthday Twitter: "Multiplatform is when you start development on a game with the assumption of optimizing for multiple platforms. Porting is something that's done after you've developed a game specifically for a particular platforms. The debate over porting is decided by the management based off the current market and the costs. All I can say right now as a developer is that Versus is being developed specifically for the PlayStation 3."

This comment comes a day after reports surfaced about Final Fantasy XIII's Xbox 360 version being released in Japan. While the news has yet to be confirmed, Microsoft is scheduled to hold one of its seasonal press conferences later today, so we'll know shortly if it's true or not.

:P sounds pretty obvious to me. I did not want for it to go multi but management decided otherwise so I'm not to blame and also it will be a port.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII Director, Tetsuya Nomura decided to respond to angry fans on twitter about VERSUS platform status after the recent announcement of "Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox 360 in Japan" just take a look below at what he has to say about it:

Quote:The multiplatform thing (XIII for 360 in Japan) is due to the already done optimization of both platforms from the beginning to the producing stages. The port is done after we fully max out one platform and fully produce the game on it. There’s also market decisions and research and porting costs to be discussed within this plan. What I can say as a developer right now is that VERSUS is being developed and maxed out for the PS3. @Nomura

so , Versus will be a port but XIII was multiplatform ? , that says many things actually

Anyways , Versus is being maxed out is all that matters :)

So at best FFvsXIII will be another crappy port to the 360 just like FF XIII.

Just release the PS3 version asap.

Don't delay it so you can "port" it to the 360 ¬_¬

Without that "crappy port" FFXIII would still be struggling to surpass FFXII.

If you don't like the series being on the 360, blame Sony for not selling enough PS3s.

What makes you think the game wouldn't have sold more than it did on the ps3 had it been exclusive?

Remember people like kowenicki boguht it on the 360 over the ps3

You can't prove that at all really... As a huge bunch of the people who bought it on 360 would have instead bought it on PS3. (Some even buying a PS3 FOR the game). Add in MS not getting exclusive advertising, also raising PS3 version sales...

The game coming out earlier due to not having to port.

The game probably not getting half as much media backlash.

Everything builds up yaknow. FFXIII if it was exclusive could be doing just as well as it is doing while being Multiplat.

Your second part is probably true though

The Xbox 360's CPU can't reproduce massive amonts of Zippers in real time so thats why he hates it.
