Forums - Sony - Sony set to have more million sellers than any console after the move?

Aussious said:

MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! YEAH I THINK YOU NEED NEW FRIENDS!Honestly its highly unlikely not because Kinect is better but simply because SONY is not very clear who exactly they are trying to sell this to were as with MS and Nintendo have made it perfectly clear from the onset, add to that the mediocre marketing push and so-so backing from SONY themselves I don't see it.

Since when do you need to target just one type of audience?

Last I checked SONY had this controller called the Dualshock and they targetting both casuals and hardcore and you know what, it worked.

Just because it is motion doesn't mean you have to target Hardcore or Casual, you can actually target both.

Obviously a Move title would be a title that requires a Move controller.

Only a small percentage of Killzone 3 players will actually have and play with the Move.

The best definition would be a title that was bought to be played with Move, but since we have no way of tracking that, it can't really be used...

No... I don't agree with that at all.

I'm just saying there is a fine line between Move support and Move required.

If I can play a game with a joystick, I don't perceive it as a Move game.

This is why I don't consider Smash Bros, Mario Kart Wii, Zelda: TP and various other Wii titles as Wiimote games...

Well the Wii version of Zelda: TP requries a Wiimote, right?

I can play Smash Bros with a joystick so I don't really look at it as a Wiimote game.

I only played Mario Kart with a Wiimote, does it support joysticks?

The thing is, in a game like Killzone 3, the Move should be just viable an option as the Dualshock 3, maybe even more so. The only thing that seperates the two is that the DS3 is the default option for many because they don't own a Move. Killzone 3 and SOCOM 4 are not DS3 games with Move support, they are DS3/Move games.

MKWii supports GC controllers. Most of the best players online use Wavebirds.

Zelda has the GC version option for those who want to play it on the Wii with GC controls.

So does that mean we subtract over 30M in Wiimote title sales now?

It is a great thing if Move/Wiimote titles offer both types of control schemes as it adds more options. It shouldn't be looked at in the way you are choosing to look at it, because your view of what makes something a motion game is very flawed.

It is like saying that Time Crisis isn't a move game since it could also use DS3 and Guncon.

MKWii is a Wii game. Wiimote and GC controllers are just options.

Hence, Killzone 3 is a PS3 game. It has joystick and Move support. Is it a Move game per se? Nope.

If someone told me a title was a Move game I would presume Move is required. If I hear a game has Move support, I naturally presume Move is just an option.

Maybe its just context? But in my opinion a true Move title only has Move support. No joysticks.
