Forums - Nintendo - Starting to doubt Wii

Is there anyone besides me here that really likes the Wii, its first party offer and that doesn't take video games seriously?

I got my Wii at launch November 2006, now its 2010 nearly 2011 and im now starting to doubt it, i was looking foward to Metroid other M until the reviews started coming out, and i dont like the idea of playing with just the Wiimote i like playing with the Wiimote and Nunchuk and it also sounds like the games not very long and loads of long cut scenes :(

Stay away from Metal Gear Solid 4.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son , and of the Holy Spirit, Amén.

Also why has there been no f-zero the motion controls would have been perfect for F-Zero

1. Final Fantasy 7

2. Sonic The Hedgehog

3. Revenge Of Shinobi

4. Mortal Kombat

5. GTA series

6. Need For Speed Underground

7. Super Mario Kart

8. ToeJam & Earl

9. Road Rash 2

10. NBA JAM

Mortal Kombat is on Wii though, they call it Armageddon

GTA is great killing random sluts but it gets repetitive fast

Mario Kart is on wii

NBA Jam will be on the wii as the main version

nah fuck road rash, an rock'n roll racing should be made

i dont know about you but with most of these games that you have mentioned it sounds like you have been living under a rock lol

I bought my Wii in 2006. I spent over $900 in games and accessories. In mid 2007 my console had to be fixed. I got it back, beat Resident Evil 4(which is really a Gamecube game), and never played it again. I bought a 360 in late August of that same year. I haven't stopped playing it. I was a huge Nintendo fan, and was talking to everybody about how great the system was. After a while, I quit saying that because I wasn't that happy with it. Especially with the lack of good games that came out. I sold it. Don't get me wrong, I wish sometimes that I would have kept my Wii. Just today I was playing Wii sports resort at my brother's house. I just kept laghing at how lame the game was. My kids like it, but that's the point. It's a kid's console. I'm not sure how old you are, but I would suggest that you look into a console that can satisfy your gaming palet. The PS3 or the 360 will work just fine. I prefer the 360, but I own both. Make a move my friend, you'll thank me later.

Apparently, you like all the series that died a LONG time ago. Doesn't seem like any console is for you. Find a new hobby, I don't think gaming is the one for you anymore.

Currently enjoying: Monster Hunter Tri.

If you like GTA then you really should have Godfather and/or Scarface and/or Bully on Wii.   All are great sandbox games and the motion controls and IR aiming actually adds a lot to this genre.   Godfather is my favorite but they are all excellent and like give tons of game play time.

Know what you mean though.  Too many half-ass attempts on Wii,  Red Steel 2 and FFCC:CB were huge disappointments for me.   Conduit too but I had mild expectations for that.  Need for Speed Nitro was okay but not great.   However, there's definitely some gems, Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, Prince of Persia:FS is very solid (surprising from Ubisoft) and content rich, NMH2 improves on the first and removes the open world element altogether.   Never played it but F1 is supposed to be an excellent racer, and Excitebots is great if your into trick racing.

No great JRPGs on Wii though, not until next year at least.  Even I have a 360 for my RPG fix and I love my Wii.  Play it over HD consoles any day, except for WRPGs which Wii has none.   But Fire Emblem is a great SRPG and Sakura Wars is a unique and surprisingly amusing Romance/SRPG both for Wii.

I wouldn't (and aren't I'm buying it) be put off my M:OM play time.   It's average for that type of game and it's a lot longer than a lot of action HD titles which can be as short as 6-8 hours (single player).   Normally if I feel the value isn't there I wait for a price drop, but that won't happen with Metroid, so might as well buy it now.

The Wii is in the early stages of its decline, next year will be a little worse, same for the year after that.  Meanwhile, the HD twins still seem to have much more life in em

I kind of agree with you. Lets wait and see. I can't really think of a software that will push the Wii up again (Maybe Wii Party, but I don't think it will do it at the Wii Fit Level)

Regarding the Original Poster, get a XBOX360 or PS3. A new Mortal Kombat is comming out, and it looks GORELY BEAUTIFUL!!!
