they really need to stop making these FF MMO's...especially on consoles. With Catacylsm coming out, this game has no chance. (ex-WoW player)

they won't because the last time they made an MMO (FF11) it became the most profitable FF title ever by a long long way.

FF11 made $100 Million even in 2009.

You have to pay for a cell phone. and you HAVE to pay for a subscription to use it.

And we were talking about a game. Not a cellphone or a computer. That is just ridiculous.

Server maintenance cost a lot money and there are many ways to get money for it. NCSoft gets money from selling expansion packs and episodes, some other from DLC and other from subscriptions. If nobody would have bought expansion packs and episodes then servers would have been shut down and you would have a useless game (just as with many other MMO's). I expect that there are exactly 0 (official) servers for GW1 1 year after release of GW2. Yes, I expect NCSoft to kill ALL servers of GW1 to sell GW2.

dont forget to factor in the play limiter they have in the game. where its an 8 hour per week at full exp points, while keeping some people from completely advancing up the chart from others, it will greatly extend the amount the number of months to get at a bunch of different things..... now i would have less a problem with this  feature if they sold playing time by the hour, play the 8 hours then wait a week only 8 hours off my card but here that would cost me 7 days of access. and its after 22 hours play time no points are gained until the next week (8 at full points and 14 at reduced? i could be very wrong on the reduced) that seems like kinda a jip. my schedule leaves me with 3 days off a week right now (considering for the last year and a half it was one this is a nice change) and maybe i want to game all day one day a week, and then for one or two hours the rest of the week why should i be penalized? just my thoughts.

so i guess if this were unrestricted for the 30 day it would be a steal. but i break it down into the amount of time i can earn full points so at most 40 hours a month for 12.99, and other months 32 hours.  i play other time sinks with numbers like that.
