OK, bringing the convo back to the actual topic, I do see him as a bit too optimistic for the PS3, but I can't blame him. Of course he wants his latest product to be his most successful, but what's riding against the PS3 (that didn't with the PS2) is lack of exclusive 3rd Party software. The reason the PS2 could do 146m units in a decade is strictly because it ran away with the market.

I see the PS3 reaching a modest (for a PlayStation) 90mill tops in the next 3-5 years, but not much more than that. The PS3 is certainly Sony's best console yet, from a technological and reliability standpoint. But for it to even mimic the PS2's success, it would need to be rid of any obstacles, and the 360 and Wii are not the Xbox and the Gamecube.

Of course, I could be wrong and Move/GT5/$199 price point help pull it WAY ahead, but that's wishful thinking, especially this far into a console's life. Besides the SNES, the losing console has remained that way throughout the gen.
