Is this still on shelves at Walmart? Thats about the only chance it has of gaining additional sales in the US.

It varies store to store, but it hasn't been available at Walmart.com in well over a year, meaning it likely hasn't been getting new shipments (or Wal-mart hasn't been ordering new shipments company wide) since then.

Resonance of Fate did poorly becuase it was mediocre. With multiplatform game engines so common and how cheaply and quickly ports can be done. There is no reason for a publisher to NOT port to everything the game can run on becuase the investment is small and it yield higher profit.

As for the notion that PS3 fans hype exclusives. That is rediculas. How can you suggest Yakusa would not have sold as much if it had been ported to PC and Xbox 360? YOu don't know the effect it would have had. I'm pretty sure it would have sold just as well on PS3 as it has and it would have sold additionaly on PC and Xbox 360. It would have cost little to port and increased sales. Only the extremely bias care about exclusives. Everyone else buys the games on the shelf without looking to see if it's a port or not.

3rd party exclusives are a thing of the past. For some reason Japanese developers and publishers think they can get away without supporting western markets. But some like Capcom and Square have realised that for the small cost of a port they can tap the rich Xbox 360 market in the west. FF13 may have sold more on PS2, but it only set records because it was on Xbox 360.

Apparently Yakuza 3 uses a PS3 only engine, so it pretty much would have been a Ninja Gaiden Sigma kind of port, and for an addititional 50k sales I don't think it would have been worth it. ;)

If the fanbase isn't to big for the franchise or it's niche in the west, they should keep just it one platform. Namco-Bandai realized that, and after 4-5 years in which the Tales of games have been released for practicly every platform it has become once again a PS-only franchise.

By the way, Xbox 360 fanbase has done the same thing in the past with exclusives like Metro 2033. Avarage game, pretty low-budget and the only reason that it got so much attention is because it was an exclusive.

Metro is still pretty good I have seen some people defending x360 with arguments that Sniper Ghost Warrior will be console exclusive :D

There's no such thing as a game that can't be ported between the Xbox 360 and PS3. If Ninja Gaiden can be ported to PS3 than Yakuza can be ported to Xbox 360. The same goes for Metro 2033. At this point it's just stupid for a developer to use anything but a multiplatform engine.

i reckon so! it's right there? 1m before the end of this yr. or this time next yr.

Sega should have released it on 360 and PC in addition to PS3. At this point it doesn't make any sense for a 3rd party publisher to do PS3 exclusives.

I'm thinking after the 3rd game comes out on the P#, SEGA will do an Anthology for the XBox 360 and have all 3 games bundled in for $59.99. Im surprised SEGA has made more games for the XBox 360. They were huge supporters last gen and made a ton of exclusives for the XBox. Microsoft should just buy them out. They really need a Japanese developer in their stables anyways.

I grew up on Sega consoles so it would be cool to have a somewhat Sega console again.

they cannot due to what i posted, the core character's were designed by sony animation unless all the core character's dies, which can happen and SEGA goes to another animation studio that's not Sony's It will not be on any other patform but Sony's.

Why would it matter that the Anime's characters were designed by Sony Studios?

I mean, you could argue that they made an exclusivity deal as part of picking up the anime. (of which there is no proof.)

I don't see what the Anime character designs have to do with anything though.  The Anime was after the game, afterall.   They "designed" the versions of the characters that already existed.

A 360 port seems far fetched, but your reasoning that it can't do it because the anime characters were designed by Sony is... silly.

because that includes the model's, did you even play VC: because if you did all the animation seq's are from Sony!

in the Game the cut scenes are all from Sony..in order to port those would have to be removed!, which mean's the character's like Welken would have to be removed!. Sega could do another one and start over no welken no 7th, and start fresh with a new animation studio for character design.
