Forums - Nintendo - Auto Shut Off?

This may sound stupid, but is there an auto shut off option in the wii? If so where is it, I couldn't find it.

Me too. Except Mario Galaxy was loaded and now the Wii thinks I played it for like 60 hours instead of 30.

nope, I can confirm that there is no auto shut off

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

After a while, the Wii will lose contact with the controllers and the screen will go "grayish" -- but everything is still running.

On occasion, my wife or my son or I have thought we turned off the console, only to discover hours later (or the next morning) that it was still running.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I wish there were.  I grown to prefer watching Netflix on my Wii and I like to go to sleep with a movie playing.  My 360 is set to go off after 6 hours of inactivity (which is too long, but it's the smallest time they had) and my PS3 is set to shut down after 2 hours (which is what I chose but is often not enough time--I'll be watching a movie and it'll just shut off).  No such setting on the Wii, as far as I know.

I'm pretty sure that if you leave it on for 6 months straight, it'll automatically shut down at some point, though.
