How long will 360's winning streak last?

8 weeks (i.e. this is the last week) 20 8.62%

9-13 51 21.98%

14-18 55 23.71%

19-23 30 12.93%

24-28 11 4.74%

29+ 65 28.02%

Total:232

I really can't predict how sales are going to go once Move & Kinect are released. Therefore I say 9-13.

I firmly beleive one reason the 360 has maintained a steady 5 million lead over the PS3 ( slightly above or below that over the last 4 yrs but close to that level overall ) because the 360 is clearly more of a 'gaming platform'  PS3 fans can disagree, but these number dont lie..

Going to the VGchartz DataAnalysis> Software Totals..

Choose to list 1000 games per page and choose worldwide to list all titles.. This will show all games for PS3 & Xbox 360 and their total sales..

*Xbox 360-library= 642 titles .... total number of games sold worldwide= 388.01 million

*PS3---------library= 484 titles .... total number of games sold worldwide= 262.09 million

Thats a WHOPPING total of 126 Million (more) games sold on the xbox 360 ( 7.4 BILLION US Dollars in sales more in software sales the 360 - this is why console numbers don't mean always mean alot because software is where the money is made !! ), to make matters even more pressing, that number in the 360's favor - would be much higher in the 360's favor when you consider how many people pirated games over the last 5 years on the 360!   Up until now the PS3 hasn't been vulnerable to that, but that seems to be changing.

360 had a year headsatrt

most of PS3's big franchises and sales have come recently

and those VGC game figure aren't true, there are way more games for both 360 and PS3

and PS3 actually outsold 360's software last year

weird that people think halo reach is gonne sell massive amounts of x360's   even thou there are already 2 halo games.

but gt5 wont sell that much ps3 even thou there is noo normal gt game.

i expect at least 100k ps3 sales in gt5 japanese launch.

ioi is currently estimating that Reach will push over an extra 100,000 consoles in America in the first month.

@Machina why?

To quote him directly (America only):

"Halo will push SOME hardware, probably add 100k for the month to hardware. You can't launch with 3m units and not push some hardware, especially with bundles, new model 360 etc."

It doesnt really need to be explained... This idiotic arguement that nobody will be incentivised to buy a console for a Halo game because Halo 3 is already out is a way too simplisic way of looking at it.

i don't think he questioned the system selling part but the 100k part

I expect wii to take over 360 in mid november.... but I'm too lazy to count how many weeks

There is always a boost with the release of a major game. MW2 even boosted console sales and there were already 4 CoD games on the 360.

I don't know if there will be a massive boost per se. But there will be a spike for about 2 or 3 weeks.

so thats 13 weeks then?  its 8 weeks already.

sorry i din't count the weeks

mach should have put dates

many are too lazy to count the weeks

i still thing it will be 8 weeks from the last week of august as mach has set it

mid october wii will start

well it didn't die out when i thought it would so who knows?

i'm just wondering how many are trade in's? i'm thinking it can't be that many, maybe 2%.

i still think

Wii will barely come out on top, followed by a close second place PS3, and close 3rd place 360 holiday 2010.

hmmm i predict the wii to outsell the 360 in around October or November..

The move launch. Even if my prediction of a true price cut in Europe doesn't happen it's still going to be massive in that region. If there is a price cut then yeah, no contest.
