Forums - Nintendo - *Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition?*

I am a HUGE fan of the R.E franchise and I played and beat most of the main R.E games but R.E.4 is my least favorite #ed R.E game by far...I liked the old Horror games better...anyway I never beat the 4th one which I had on the G.C. I read that R.E.4 Wii Edition is the best version so is it worth a buy? I thought it was only ok on the G.C and didn't get very far but I like Motion controls so does it make it better?

If you didn't like it on the GC, chances are you won't like in on the Wii.

However, the Wii version is best, so if you want to try it again (which I strongly advise), get the Wii version.  You will get not only the Ada Wong sections, but also some amazing pointer controls.  It also shouldn't be too expensive now anyway

Its a horribly unbalanced game that is completely disconnected from the RE series story.  The Wii version is even more unbalanced due to the pointer controls.

So your a classic R.E fan like me I assume.

Resident Evil 4 Wii is hands down the best game in the series. IF you are even remotely interested in Resident Evil or survival horror games, you need to buy this game.

Definitely worth it at this price:

It's a great game, but like you have noticed not really a true-to-franchise survival horror, more like an action game. The story distances itself from other RE games and has some holes, but, like I said, it's a great game.

The pointer controls make it even more of a joy to play, if you can get past your "die-hard RE" hangups. Ironically it is my most played entry in the series.

If you're wedded to the older games, then even the Wii improvements won't win you over.

I loved RE4 and the Wii controls do add to it, IR pointing mainly.

However if you didn't care for that, I can't imagine what you think of RE5

Its the exact same game on GC, so if you simply dislike the game I don't see how superior controls will make it enjoyable to you unless it was the controls that you didn't like in the first place.

Personally, I thought it was a great game and I only played the Wii version.

Of course it deserve the buy, do it and you will not regret.
