Mortal Kombat producer Hector Sanchez has told NowGamer that the idea of the fighting game mash-up is nothing new.

Sanchez told us, “Ed Boon pitched Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter over ten years ago.” Ed Boon is the creator of the Mortal Kombat series.

“I think it's inevitable”

Sanchez also thought that a Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter match up could still happen in the future. He said, “I think it’s inevitable.”

Not one to shy away from a bit of hype, Sanchez also told us that “[this] Mortal Kombat will be the goriest to date.”

All we can say is: 'get over here!'

Mortal Kombat is due out in 2011 on all formats.

It's unlikely that Capcom would let such super-violent things happen to their characters, so I'm not going to hold my breath.

Still, it would be interesting to see the Shun Goku Satsu as a Fatality.

I would only want this if Fatalities are well... Fatal!

I want to rip Ken's head off and spit venom down his neck until he explodes and then laugh at whats left of his corpse as it falls into lava.

They might go the Mk vs dc route and take them out.But that did hurt the game sales.

Honestly, I don't think the violece is essential at all. But I would hope the game plays more like a SF than a MK.

MK vs DC also sold great by the way. Bear in mind fighters don't sell like they used to.

But if you want MK fans to get excited you need the gore.
