The Advertising Standards Authority found that Square-Enix, the makers of the sci-fi role-playing game Final Fantasy XIII, had misled video-gamers by not using images from the Xbox 360 but from its rival, the Playstation 3 (PS3).
The ASA acted after one viewer complained that the sequence of images from the game released in March this year in the UK were from the Sony PS3, which he said had better quality images than the Microsoft-produced Xbox.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
