I'm expecting Wii sales to get close to 100k (averaged) for the next month - PS3 will do about half of that.

So for December Japan (approx):

DS - 850k-1m
Wii - 400k-500k
360 - 250k-350k
PSP - 400k-500k
360 - ??? (50k?)

You mean PS3 right? Please fix.

For those interested... here is the week Prologue (GT4) launched - 200k in week#1:

It launched the same week in December as GT5 will do- and hardware sales rose 30% for the week (another big title, plus Xmas period).

Prologue on the PS3 *may* end up doing similar numbers - we'll see soon. 150k may be a good start.

I'm very happy seeing DS and Wii finally picking up, while PS3 doesn't really lose that much steam. Doing very respectable numbers.

GT4 Prologue did ~200k in a userbase of ~14million. I see GT5 Prologue doing ~100k first week. HW increase should be higher though, at +60%.

@RolStoppable - Sometimes wrong seems to be right.Just think of Mortal Kombat & Mario Kart! But you have to be merciful with some of the PS3 fans.As Words of Wisdom mentioned in the SE Joichi Wada thread, the PS3 can't correct your spelling mistakes for you. That is the reason i am using my Wii right now:)

Well I guess there's no way the Wii have sold 20million units by the end of the year if it keeps selling like that, it needs more than one million units sold per week to reach that goal and this week's numbers are on the 600-700thousand levels.

Unless it is true that nintendo has a lot of wiis stockpiled for this holiday season there will be no 20million wiis sold, but for the end of the fiscal year it will reach that goal easily.

@lightbleeder

You are very correct. I do not see Wii selling 1 million a week for the rest of the year. I am pretty sure there is not enough supply to meet that anyway. But, Nintendo have pulled some tricks out before, and they might get us again.

Also, I guess the sales levels will stay elevated until next year. But I am hoping the drop off will not be back into the 30k range but more like 50k...

Underestimating Nintendo is a fatal mistake.

That's all I have to tell ya.

Remember this week's figures take care of the last week of November with a couple of days of December included inside.

There's still 4 big weeks to get the job done & in one fell swoop Nintendo moved from the high 14 million range to 15 million looking towards 16 million.

In all honesty Japan is weighing this train down. I expect that to change very soon as Nintendo works out this supply back & forth they've got going on.
