Forums - Sony - Heavy Rain Question: Where was Jason going with that red balloon?

I loved Heavy Rain for the PS3.  In fact, about a week ago, I started re-playing it.  One thing that I didn't think about was this?  Where the hell was Jason going with that red balloon? This question haunts me in every aspect of my life.  I MUST know what was going through that kids mind!  I MUST!!

*Spoiler* Ethan buys his son, Jason, a red balloon on the upper level of the mall.  Jason promptly takes the balloon, runs outside, and dies in a car accident.

*bonus*  I started playing FF7 (PSP) again, too.  At first, I hated the game for not being as good as I remembered.  Then, after finishing Cosmo Canyon, I fell in love with the game again.  It's still awesome!!  Currently, I'm trying to locate the keystone.  Now, I know Dio has it and he's in the Golden Saucer.  I can't find my way back to the Golden Saucer.  A lil' help, here?

The scene was designed for you to follow him. They never really explain where he was going, but as it stands, it seems it didn't matter, as the purpose was just to follow him. It's no surprise that you already have people here to put the game in a negative light, but I know you're asking out of curiosity.

ssshhhhhh

I know it was a plot device.  Really, I'm hoping for some humorous responses (about a child dying?  I'm sick.) about that unexplained/surreal scene.  Anybody that wants to put the game in a negative light can suck on Heavy Rains awesome sales success.  The story wasn't perfect but it's still one of the most unique and captivating games on the market, today.  Everybody should play it.  Anybody I loaned my copy to (it's been loaned out since about two weeks after launch to someone or another, except when the Taxidermist DLC came out.) loved it--even the Madden/Call of Duty crowd!

Personally, if my kid wants me to buy her a balloon, I'm going to spank her.  You can't be too safe nowadays........

^^^I'm on my second playthrough.  I made a point of not playing with Jason in the back yard.  That way, it seems like he killed himself because he was unloved.

Jason seems mentally retarded, maybe he had some sort of mental spasm that made him HAVE to cross that road.

Dude, if you saw Eva Mendez across the street like Jason did, wouldn't you HAVE to cross that road too?
