I know it was a plot device. Really, I'm hoping for some humorous responses (about a child dying? I'm sick.) about that unexplained/surreal scene. Anybody that wants to put the game in a negative light can suck on Heavy Rains awesome sales success. The story wasn't perfect but it's still one of the most unique and captivating games on the market, today. Everybody should play it. Anybody I loaned my copy to (it's been loaned out since about two weeks after launch to someone or another, except when the Taxidermist DLC came out.) loved it--even the Madden/Call of Duty crowd!
Personally, if my kid wants me to buy her a balloon, I'm going to spank her. You can't be too safe nowadays........
