Maybe we have a "Prelude" included or something. Where you can create your Shepard and play through the major story parts. No sidequests, just the story...?

Ok... Yesterday ppl was complaining about the rumor here on the forum, but im kinda of surprised :D(Patcher wins...)

Like I posted earlier, the game is going to have an introduction to the Mass Effect universe, so everyone that plays the game will at least have an idea of what's going on. It's also getting all the DLC, so that only makes it better. It's better than nothing and I'll be giving it a go, I didn't play Mass Effect 1 because of how janky the game was, I want to play Mass Effect 2 though because it's a much more refined game.

@Kowenicki, I'm sure the 10 people that said that on VGChartz must be equal to the thousands of gamers who are interested in the game and only have a PS3. That's a very ugly attitude to have.

PS3 owners will miss out on some things because of no ME1. The choices that can be made during the main missions and the sidequests, these aren't very important in ME2, but they probably will be in ME3.

And there have been people saying that ME2 is not as good as ME1 way before this, just look at the official ME forums.

WTF? releasing ME2 without the first one is stupid. Either release the two games together or don't release any of them. Anyway, I advise Playstation 3 owners to play the PC version instead (if they can run it).

The reason there will be no mass effect 1 on ps3 is because Microsoft studios published the first game.I guess they got the rights for it.

No the perfect entry point in the franchise is ME1. Having a long intro movie doesn't solve the major problem with having ME2 without ME1. ME1's major draw was having your decisions carry over throughout the trilogy. I beat ME1 a dozen times on 360 and depending on which of Shepards you picked the intro to ME2 would have to change. The outcome in ME1 varies based on what you do. The Wrex and Rachni Queen decisions come to mind.

If you are going to give PS3 owners the ME experience, give them the whole experience. PC and 360 owners get the joy of seeing how what they did in ME1 effects there quest in ME2. PS3 owners are getting denied that very cool experience.

which is what i am thinking it is..or it may even be ME1 we do not know enough yet.

Hopefully it does turn out to be ME1 remade for the PS3 because the way they are dong this just sounds like bad business,  even if there is a prelude at the beginning of PS3 ME2 come on that doesn't make up for coming into a movie an hour into it, plus like I said there won't be any effect from choices made in ME1 which is the best part of the series.  

Either way I def hope this sells well because the series def deserves it, fantastic games.
