Forums - Sales - Ubisoft employee: Red Steel 2 has sold 270,000 worldwide

270k is most definitely shipped by june 30 or perhaps july 31. so it's tracked about perfectly.

Disappointing sales ofcourse, but come on, Red Steel 2 was a $50 FPS with an 8 hour single player and no multiplayer whatsoever. Only die-hard motion fans bought the game.

Makes me feel special!! :) I'm one of the 270.000!!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Too bad. The game is very good, awesome and fierce use of the WM . On the other hand, the average (mindless) Wii gamer doesn't have a clue such a good game had been released. A few friends that I work with who own a Wii were impressed by that game. I had a workout by playing this ^^.

Ok , the story is bad, the friendly NPCs have bad voice acting and dumb background, calibration is a bit touchy... But I just love it because of its sheer awesome gameplay. The Cell shading graphics is second to Wind Waker's imho, and on par to Borderlands.

Sooo, I guess we can expect it to be ported to the PS3 with Move support in the future? Costing $15 on PSN? I'd buy that. I hope more publishers follow what EA's doing with Dead Space 2 and Medal of Honour, I'm looking forward to finally playing Dead Space: Extraction.

Shame the game sold badly though, looks like they put some actual effort in to it and from the interviews I've watched, the devs seem like really passionate guys. Everyone mentioning how the game was 8 hours, with no multi-player and it was $50 at release. I'd like to point you to Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, which was 8 hours long, with no multi-player, it was $60 at release and it got far less marketing than Red Steel 2 did. It's also sold over 3 million copies.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

LoL. I'm sure you don't want to get into a software selling comparison between the Wii and PS3..It would get embarrasing.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

NO matter what the usual peeps say about oh no it's too short its too this that yada yada, those are horrible sales for a game with good reviews and such...especially considering the size of the user base

This had good marketing push too, I remember at the time they had a LOT of advertisments running for this game...real bummer

But yea psn release will happen sooner or later I guesss...this and dead space extraction...now if only the House of dead port happens also, heard it's a lot of fun from friends

LoL. I also wouldn't want to compare the sales of third party single player games between the PS3 and Wii..It would get embarrasing

I will buy it at the end of this month, with Metroid: Other M.
