It seems like the shift in sales momentum towards the Xbox 360 has brought back the ugly PS3 is doomed talk from some people.  I just want to help end that kind of nonsense thinking now because the PS3 is in no way in trouble.  It has achieved enough sales to keep it well supported for the rest of this generation regardless of how things turn out.

It's funny to even hear the doom talk because this situation isn't even similar to the PSP for example which is seeing some of its worst hardware and software sales in the West and is still able to have some great third party games thanks to the support it is getting fron just one region.  The PS3 by comparison is doing well in all three regions having its best sales ever.

I also want to point out that even if the smoke clears later in the year and we see the Xbox 360 putting some real distance between it and the PS3 it is still good for PS3 gamers.  The more new HD gamers the better and it will help to make HD game development that much more attractive to third parties.  Best of all it could even lead to an even more diverse selection of games for all HD gamers.

Well that's all so please remember that the next time you see new sales numbers.

I really stopped caring about sales a long time ago. I own every system and I now know that all 3 are in the for the long haul.

Seeing as I do not own stock in any of these companies why should I care anymore? It's not like I would ever want one to kill off another. That would be money wasted for me.

Same here.  I actually now have a 360, Wii, PSP, and DS and plan on getting a PS3 by the end of the year.  In my opinion all of them have great software libraries and well worth the investment.

Those games alone make  the Fall/X'mas amazing for the Wii.  Add Zelda next year and those are games that will be remembered as some of the best of just generation.

No one is going to loose the console war  becaise every system will have sold decnetly and brought amazing games and features of its own, I think its a pretty great thing.

agreed, but it does need to stop. i don't even enter threads that talk about doom. it's stupid and dead so lets leave it that way.

there was a thread saying the same thing about 360 earlyer this yr, but i went in that thread and shot down any thought of that being possible even though i'm no fan of the 360(shocking)! it's a weak argument and to me atleast shows no class.

But, then who exactly is doomed now? We can't very well operate under the assumption that no one is doomed?! C-3PO will be beside himself with grief.
