The fact is that the HD consoles are at their peak now (or close to it). Wii is not.

Yes the console that costs $299 (its cheapest model) is "close to its peak" or "has reached it" but the much cheaper one hasn't.

LMAO

Some people need interpretation classes. He meant that Wii sales have ALREADY peaked, not that they will peak from now on.

you need to read it again

I read. He sait that at this present moment of year 2010 the PS3 and SBOX360 are peaking. Then he says that the Wii, at this present moment of the year 2010, isn't at it's peak. He didn't specifie if the Wii peak was in the past or in the future, but looking at the sales, I though that anyone could see that it has already happened in 2008.

he said the wii is not.hell he himself said that he should have clarrified it.hell with you

No, people are just obviously pointing out how the Wii isn't doing very well at the moment compared to past times, no one is sayin it's doomed.

"Is 360 becoming the New Wii?  i think so after kinect is out.."
"I honestly think there is a chance of the 360 outselling the Wii in NA this holiday."
"According to my predictions at least, I expect both the 360 and PS3 to outsell the Wii this holiday :)"
etc.

This is what I consider "doomed," claiming "nobody is saying it's doomed" is either disingenuous, or you have a different definition than I do, and I'd like for you to share it if possible.

If you're wondering just why the above implicates this, just look at the numbers. None of the quotes are possible without some insane declines by the Wii (bigger than currently), mixed with some crazy gains by the 360 (or PS3 in a few cases).

Since the Wii has already been seeing declines, one only needs to be a little more pessimistic than the rest to push opinion into "doom" territory. Whereas, one may need to be a bit more optimistic than usual to proclaim it'll "do just fine." If console performance opinions can be put into a graph:

|--doomed--|--trouble--|---not bad---|---fine---|----> (better)

I'd say the average opinion right now is on trouble, which makes "doomed" not so far off, right?

Oh cord, Reasonable will be so jealous. You're taking over his position on the forum which will be quite frightening to him. Maybe I can convince him theres an opening for 'PS3 fanboy' on the forums.

Tease.

Wii not behind both HD consoles anymore? Ah well, I'm sure it's still domed.

Well done, 360. If these sales keep up, they might outsell Nintendo in a year or 30.

@ Squilliam

I think that's a pretty good point about who may be buying the new 360s.

another good point is who is buying new 360s and no games

Personally I suspect the second hand market has a lot to answer for. If you are buying a console this late in the generation and it is not bundled then the sales pitch almost inevitable slides to the second hand market. Bascially it is very easy to buy lots of titles but have none show up in software sales.

I agree with this too. If I were to buy a PS3 from this point on, I would definitely be buying used games.

you agree on everything that makes sales of 360 seem to get new owners

if used games were then sales of old games would just drop and used game sales would increase

with amount of HW increase 360S has brought there should be some increase in SW but it has barely changed

Wrong, I already agreed with the existing owners idea, evidence can been seen in my original reply to you.....the "no shit" part. Go back and check it cause you seem to have missed it. You on the other hand act as if you ONLY agree with the one idea that has NO new 360 owners.

As far as used games sales, is there a way to track that? I seriously don't know.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

no i have never said only  old 360 owners are buying 360S

my view is that the main sales are from upgradation and few people are buying it and hence SW isn't increasing

there is noway to track used game sales
