I have only seen The Sixth Sense, Signs and the Village. All three were among the worst films I've ever seen.

Yet one of your favorite movie is The Little Mermaid. Different taste I guess.

The Little Mermaid is fantastic. Absolutely a high point in modern cinema.

Well same goes with The Sixth Sense. It really pushed twisted endings to a new step.

I didn't think so at all. The film didn't surprise me at any moment. Although I have to say it's a lot better than Signs and The Village.

I gave up on him a long time ago after watching Signs.  Aliens invade our water planet but water hurts them. Couldn't they see all the water from space? And the big "twist" of the movie was "SWING AWAY MERRIL!!"  Oh geez!!

In his defence though, he is not a bad director, although he tends to mimic his ido Alfred Hitchcock a bit too much.  If he would just drop the ego and hand off the writing to someone who knows how to write a good story his movies would probably be much better.

I thought the sixth sense and Unbreakable were pretty good.... Can't speak for his other movies..

Exactly what I was thinking.

Shyamalan rules. The Village is his best movie and a fantastic movie. The Sixth Sense and Signs are great movies. Unbreakable is good.

I have a hard time believing that any movie could suck more than The Happening. God, that movie was terrible.

"We have to stay ahead of the wind!" That line pretty much sums up the entire movie.

I liked Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense. They're one trick pony movies but I enjoyed them for what they were. Everything else was fucking horrible, particularly Signs with the Grand Canyon-sized plothole of "why would aliens that are susceptible to water invade a planet that is 70% water and rains constantly?"

Perhaps because they don't know they are susceptible to water?

Right. They can break the speed of light and have the technology to travel millions of light years, yet they didn't realize they are vulnerable to a not terribly uncommon molecule.
