You sound like someone holding a "GOD HATES FAGS" sign outside her concert.

What kind of music are you into? And what kind of women do you like?

Westlife were massively popular like that once.

So was Elvis. And the Beatles. And Madonna. And Michael Jackson.

Wonder what happened to them.

They died...

Michael Jackson was back on the upswing at the time of his death. His last album "This is it" is one of the best I've ever heard, with the exception of the remastering of Black or White.

I knew that answer was coming ¬_¬ And you know what i was getting at. They are all still huge artists even to this day.

But the point still stands. He's trying to do the usual "She will be nothing in a few years thing" and it's annoying.

Oh, and a few of them are still alive

To be honest, I don't like Elvis or Madonna at all. The Beatles I'm not a huge fan of (despite owning an unopened copy of Abbey Road). As for Michael Jackson, just look at my avatar/username.

To be honest, I don't think Lady GaGa will be remembered as fondly or as long as other artists. I find that, while she has talent ( a lot of it), her music isn't eternal like MJ or The Beatles.

Elvis i can handle, i was brought up on it so i had no choice really... Mum loves him.

Madonna, I like a few of her stuff. Not much though.

The Beatles, you can't say a bad word about them on these forums or you are a hell spawn.

MJ is awesome.

Gaga right now is huge. We can't say if her music is eternal or anything because well... She's done one album. A recent one too. We need to wait a few years before we can really judge that. It is obvious though that she aint going anywhere anytime soon.

Two albums:

THE FAME *mid 2008*(JUST DANCE, POKER FACE, LOVE GAME, PAPARAZZI all went #1)

THE FAME MONSTER *late 2009*(EPISODE): (BAD ROMANCE, TELEPHONE, ALEJANDRO)

the 3rd comes out early next year (2011)

The Fame Monster is only an extended play, no? It's not like it was a complete album...

This is the facebook album with all the outfit comparisons, many of them are for Grace Jones and Roisin Murphy. Some of these pictures are hugely exaggerated I admit, but the majority show how original Lady GaGa really is. What really got me was the bolt thingy on her eye, which was taken directly from David Bowie.

Mr. Leo J the hair bow was done by Paris Hilton before Lady GaGa. Also, Michael Jackson is the most followed person on facebook and not Lady GaGa, and the president of the US is not the president of the world so having more fans than him on facebook doesn't really mean much because millions of people around the world wouldn't care about liking him on facebook. And GaGa is not much ahead of Justin Bieber, just look at all of his videos... they are all watched by MILLIONS and MILLIONS of people, which is absolutely rediculous. I personally find that boy obnoxious and talentless.

Another point is something I've pointed out before, some of her songs are rip offs. "Alejandro" is the biggest example as it's a total STEAL of Ace of Base's "Don't Turn Around" but of course GaGa fans tend to deny it and swear they sound nothing alike, which brings me to my next point; Lady GaGa are pretty much brainwashed. I always offer facts, you know pictures or videos or songs but for some reason none of it really matters one bit to the GaGa fans.

Her music videos, can somebody PLEASE tell me why she & Beyonce killed all those people in the Telephone video? Apparently it doesn't matter because it got nominated for Video Of The Year despite being absolutely retarded, and made no sense AT ALL. And that Alejandro video, what does it mean? I read what Steven Klein said and what the video means, and it was all nice but the video certainly didn't give me that impression, nor did it MEAN anything when I watched it. It felt like GaGa wanted to have soldiers, wanted to have gays, wanted to have a heart and wanted to be religiously-controversal without any of it relating to each other or making any sense. And don't get me started on how much that video resembled MANY of Madonna's videos such as "Like A Prayer", "Vogue", "Justify My Love" and "Erotica" among a couple more.

Fame Monster is an EP, not an album. And that stands for Extended Play, not "Episode", Leo  (i thought you knew music really well?)

Gaga is pretty good, very catchy, mostly generic. Middle of the line as far as talent goes. Great performer. All in all, nothing special.

No correlation between sales and quality by the way.

Later.

I'll admit to her being a decent singer, and having a predominant effect onto the music industry today.

But..... she is no way in hell attractive.

As for sound..

2005-2008,

USHER= R and B

AKON= R and B

Aguilera = SOUL / R and B

Rihanna = Pop/ R and B

Ne-Oh= R and B

Katy perry = Pop rock

Enrique Iglesia= Latin/Pop

In the U.S dance music was never allowed to be played on radio, which is ONE REASON why madonna's last album never really managed to go full fledged diamond in the U.S or onto the mainstream pop radio..

Guess who changed that?

Lady GaGa- Late 2008 Electro/techno pop

the only one to do it in the U.S too.. everyone on the list above was a step behind her, and that literally pushed her up dramaticaly in fame.. atleast that's what I saw it to be.. and her style was way ahead of its time..

Now?

Usher = Dance/electro pop

Rihanna = Pop/R and B/electro pop

Katy perry = Dance/electro Pop

Enrique= Dance/Electro Pop

Ne-Oh= Dance/electro pop

Akon = Dance/electro pop

Aguilera = pop/dance/electro pop

Don't tell me she hasn't done shit for the music industry, because that just shows how misinformed you are about the pop music industry.

True true true. She's influencing tons of artists that were already on the market, and new ones too.

Within 2 years in music, she has reached an incredible level of celebrity, because she is a very good self-promoting person and also actually a very good singer, her ballads are not meaningless, and unlike other artists, Lady Gaga knows what works. Electro/pop works in the charts and move money, ballads makes elitists happy. There it goes the fame. And she knows this. She's really brilliant.

Also, her videos are quite original and different from the other artists...

Try a pop star who doesn't rely on a stupid persona and forced controversy.

Hands down more talented, diverse, and all around more enjoyable to listen to--plus Robyn's been around for about a decade.

Your welcome for introducing you to your new favorite artist. Gee, whoddathunk, not being #1 on the US Billboard Charts doesn't mean you don't have awesome music

LMAO, why would I explain to you what a video means if all you're going to do is counter argue? I've grown tired of trying to convince people that she's the most original thing in pop music since madonna or michael jackson.. and that she is one of the most talented people and one of the best performers in the music industry period.

That opinion isn't just mine or "brainwashed gaga fans" it's of the industry itself, so yes RUBANG IM NOT THE ONLY GUY SAYING THIS.., and who should I try to convince? A random guy that hates anything close to being POP, I'm just a guy here informing the VGC community about what she is doing and what she has done. It's ok to have people that don't like her, but going as far as you have, considring I've already done what I have to explain things is just amazing, and to the point of obsession in trying to get her out of the music business or something.. well no matter what you say.. there's millions.. of people who continue to believe her message of equality, and her expression of freedom, if you call waht you say "the truth" then you are sadly mistakened.
