Forums - PC - StarCraft 2 Worth Buying a New PC?

Is StarCraft 2 one of those games worth plugging $1000 or more on for a new computer?

I currently have a $600 laptop after my Dell PC, which lasted me 7 years and thousands on upgrades died December 2009. I cannot run StarCraft 2 on my laptop due to a graphics card embedded in the motherboard. I have looked around at gaming laptops, and have set my desires on a $1300 Asus gaming laptop, but will not make the decision until the guys at BestBuy can assure me that I will get 4-5 years out of it and can upgrade it.

I bought a N64 for Super Marior 64, PlayStation for FF7, and on.

Is StarCraft 2 in the same line?

Maybe not just starcraft 2

But Starcraft 2 and Civilizations V combined surely are!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

No! Starcraft 2 will lead you away from this site and I already have the feeling that there are a lot of poster less active.. I mean some threads survive for days in the hot topic section.. I'll miss you..

Damn that PC must have been from the stone age.

Definitely not, but there are plenty of other games worth buyiung a new PC for. Starcraft 2 had to be one of the biggest disappointments in the decade.

No. StarCraft was, StarCraft 2 is not. Here's hoping Diablo III is though :/

I really hope they don't screw up D3. I played D2 for so long it's kind of sad. It was so evil too, I'd stop playing and they'd delete my chars so I would feel obligated to build them all up again from 0.

wow, 7 years old. Amazing.

But really you don't need to spend 1300$ on a laptop to game, and you certainly should never buy from bestbuy.

You can probably get a really nice gaming laptop from acer for 800 or so. Just check all the models, or go on tigerdirect and look for laptops with a dedicated video card. 1300$ is way too much honestly, unless you're talking about australian dollars.

This one is only 949$.

and if you really want to spend about 1300$ look at this next one.

If you are getting one for SC II, don't bother with anything high end, as even on ultra it doesn't look amazing. It is a fun game, but nothing that special, I would still rate CoH higher
