If I had more cash, i'd track down the older R&Cs. Those and the Sly Cooper games are the only major holes left in my collection. Well, Zone of the Enders too, but tracking down those is a pipe dream.

ToD is the worst in the series, and so yeah you should give it another shot.
its a platformer, not a shooter btw.

Zone of the Enders are one of those really awesome games that no one played, especially the second, the first one was repetitive and the storyline was meh.

So when i heard about this game coming out i couldn't wait to play it. I managed to get around 6hours into this game before i stopped playing, it's by far the worst in the series and a complete disgrace. The graphics were by far the biggest let down, the game looks atrocious on my 40" 1080p TV, much worse then tools. The gameplay was also another letdown and it lost its ratchet feel and was no longer a game or series i ever wish to play again. |
What? its actually GOING BACK to what the series is known for, what PS2 games did you get? deadlocked?

A crack in time was really good, bought it on launch and blasted through that in no time (no pun intended). It was so much fun exploring worlds and finding the zoni, and the occasional space fight. Oh, not that many people know this (since I didn't for a long time and it sounded nothing like him), Sigmund is Drake! Nolan North voices him and to my surprise he doesn't sound like Drake at all (like most of his other characters).
Dude I dont know what game you were playing, but Quest for Booty was the biggest f*** you I played in 2008. I payed $15 for a less then average story that took less than three hours to beat and on its hardest difficulty the only challenging thing in the game is the final boss. There's only a few weapons. You spend 20 mins just to turn on wind turbines. It seemed its only purpose was to tell you that Dr. Neferious would be in the next game and that it would come out next year. I would gladdy call QfB the worst in the series, but then again I havent played the psp ones.

Perhaps you have Ratchet fatigue. Give yourself a break for a while and come back to it. Personally I liked the PS2 main line games better than any of the PS3 offerings, but aCiT is the best of what's on the PS3.
"The first thing you'll notice while playing the game is that the graphics are really good, and arguably the best to be had on ps3 at the time of the game's release. The in-game graphics are already very nice, but the FMVs feature improved AA and lighting quality that provides an almost Pixar-like presentation during cutscenes, though sometimes the visuals come closer to claymation. A Crack in Time is without a doubt my favorite platformer of the generation. I enjoyed Tools of Destruction quite a bit, but ACiT is just a phenomenal game in every way. The gameplay is superb, everything from planet exploration, to the Clank puzzles, and the space flight sections. I couldn't believe so many reviews ripped on the flying sections, sure the combat was a bit lackluster, but to be honest I spent most of my time gawking at the gorgeous visuals. The artists at Insomniac did an amazing job with ACiT. But hell, it's not just the art design, the graphics of ACiT are also a huge step up from Tools of Destruction and Resistance 2.
If you haven't gotten ACiT and enjoy the Ratchet series, pick it up for $30 or less. It's a far better game than Tools of Destruction, and one of only 3 games I've platinum'd this generation (along with Uncharted 2 and Mirror's Edge).
Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d
I love it, absolutely the best R&C on PS3 (I haven't played the PS2 games...). Just all round fun, humorous writing, fun gameplay. Awesome game, and I'm really glad I got it at launch!
