Forums - Nintendo - Is there a way to make Wii games look better in HD tvs?

Don't forget to tell the Wii you have an HDTV.  You have to manually adjust it in the settings.

Even with the cables some games will just look like ass once the conenct to a HDTV.  I am pretty sure some devs try and design a game to look good on a HDTV also and some do not bother.

Playing No More Heroes 2 only yesterday on our HDTV and my god that game is pixelated to hell, oddly the first NMH wasn't as bad  on a HDTV, making me think the second didn't have as much effort or attention in that department.

i usually think Wii ports from HD consoles looks terrible on a HDTV

Buy/build a multicore P4 PC with a decent GPU and use Dolphin.

Looking at these games, I suspect Nintendo will re-release a lot of these titles when Wii 2 comes out as they look perfectly fine in HD. Low res textures are not visible at all.

Actually, most of Nintendo's own games use higher res textures than are needed for 480p.  This is especially evident in most internal games from Mario Galaxy on (Smash Brawl, Mario Kart, NSMB, etc), and it makes me suspect that up-rendering older Wii games will be feature for backwards compatibility on the Wii successor...

Yeah, for sure. After seeing the emulator in action Im pretty sure these games are made on PCs using higer resolution and textures... then downscaled for the Wii's 480p requirement.
