Forums - Nintendo - Mario Party not coming back, Nintendo expanding operations

Even if WP will become bigger the MP, I still doubt that its the last that we see a MP game... hell I bet that we will probably see at least one 3DS release in the next 2 years

I would be happier with a smash bros 3D.

Nintendo could u please just take my money and give me back my 3DS?!

I kind of hope it does come out for the 3DS with DLC

I am rather puzzled by the idea. Mario Party DS was nothing short of a home-run commercially, quality software and one of the best multiplayer games on the console. To simply strike off the series at this point appears a little out of character to me.

In the scenario that Mario Party does not return however, I fear for the status of other multiplayer centric Mario themed titles, specifically Mario Tennis and Mario Golf. To let these games pass on would be a drastic mistake imho.

How technical is your game?

It would be a shame if it never came back. Mario Party DS was a good quality title and did really well commercially. I was really rather hoping for a Mario Party 3DS to be honest.

I m pretty happy to see Mario Party to die !

But honestly, i dont think "Wii Party" can do much better, i want it to turn into "Nintendo Party" like Smash Brothers

You may find a mirror trying to find the other side of the world

I'm gonna miss Mario Party a lot!

I have yet to really take a look at Wii Party, is it any fun??

Nintendo want to expand the Miis appearances in video games and creating Wii Party would have to abandon the Mario Party franchise for this method to work. Wii Sports was an improvement on its predecessor but was still not revolutionary. If Wii Party can improve on Wii Sports Resort then we are guaranteed that it is one of the best Party games created.

At least we'll always have our memories

Maybe Nintendo just responded to the huge critisizm about Mario being in lots of games. If they thought it would endanger the long term value of the character, this step is logical.
