Is this really shocking news to anyone? Did we not see this coming? I have had this impression ever since I witnessed the infamous E3 '09 presentation, simply that Natal/Kinect will be a faulty, unresponsive piece of hardware/software. Bottom of an Avatar shoe anyone??? Smoke and mirrors presentation with that little kid running around?? Milo was it? I mean, the fails just keeps adding up. No long skirts, no baggy clothes, struggles in darkened conditions, bad voice recognition, and the latest video showing the asian girls where Kinect meant they were standing too close to each other or something like that. well, the girls barely made contact at any point and they had about 20-30 cm between them at all times. this means you might need a lot of space in your room if you want kinect to work. and they were only 2 players, what about 4 players?
so no, i am not surprised that kinect, a product from MS, will not function properly.

You also forgot the "it hates black people" part as well. Right?
Jeez guys, the same ole same ole from the same ole? When it comes out judge it yourself. I for one don't think kinect will be the end all be all of motion sensing games. But its going to be a better piece of hardware than 99% of the haters are going to give it credit for.
The only time I ever play a game in the "dark" is when my wifes asleep and I'm playing a FPS with my friends at night. Somehow I don't think many people would be standing up and walking around when the room is dark. But hay I may be wrong I guess some people like to fall or trip for no reason.

So you guys suddenly care about IGN now?, the thing didn't release yet so we STILL have to wait and see.

It is sort of the media's job to tell us what is good and what is not. If they just praised everything it wouldn't be any help at all.

The Wii's announcement and launch is quite the reverse of Kinect, which was met with great interest thanks to the promises made at E309, followed by a great deal of backlash after it failed to live up to many people's expectations. Wii articles circa 2005 were far more negative than Natal articles from last year, while Wii articles from just prior to launch were incredibly positive compared to the Kinect articles of today. The idea that everyone hated the Wii and wanted it to fail around launch is a myth that really needs to die. Launch was the first time people were truly excited about the system, thanks to impressive E306 demos, the Super Mario Galaxy reveal, and Twilight Princess becoming a launch title. There was much skepticism before this, and much hatred after this, but late 2006 was one of the few times Nintendo was getting a great deal positive press this generation. |
2005 it really didn't get hate either man, people were a bit skeptical but thats the way people always treat something new and unproven, the hate didn't come till 2008 for some reason when some of the best games on the platform hit lol
People act like its the hate means it will do well but to be honest the hate only came after it became clear the PS3 and 360 would not reach Wii in sales then the hate flowed like a river, hate it now, then most likely so will everyone else, hate it later then everyone already loves it and you're hating on it's success
MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"
Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000
And the worst of it all is that MS hasn't decided yet Kinect's screen of death colour, how can a MS product be more unfinished?

I actually think opposite is true, the marketing is essential if the technical problems are present. Technical problems are more likely to lead to negative word of mouth which in turn will reduce sales.
I really can't see this thing being successfull. With the uninspired games and the technical problems, Kinect really won't go anywhere (IMO). It will have a big launch thanks to the marketing (I can already see infront of me all the threads with xbox-fans yelling about how right they were and how everyone who ever doubted Kinect must be served crow), but will quickly die away after the holidays.

"Nintendo is still ahead of the game when it comes to motion sensing, and both Sony and Microsoft still have a long way to go to catch up, but so far Kinect seems like the lame donkey in the race." It's pretty clear they didn't mean about acurracy. |
yes they was going on about the games, but you have to admit move is just coming out and the variety of games coming out for it are crazy, i can't wait for sorcery the most!!
