Its no shock that the Kinect is already a hit. I mean people bought that stupid Wii Balance Board for like $100.

If people went ape shit for balance board, than they'll jizz their pants when they see what the Kinect can do.

About 2, I agree if MS avoids shovelling Kinect with Wii games rip-offs and exploits its differences instead.

About 1, it depends on how many shops taking preorders are in UK and how many days are left to Kinect launch and whether they all keep that average preorder rate, I really don't know, without all these data it's difficult to verify. Does Kinect launch in UK on 4 November like in USA? Later? If later, the prediction becomes more likely, unless serious issues create bad publicity and word-of-mouth after US launch.

i really wonder about the software sales for the 360 this holiday, all current owners are buying the new 360 s, and if kinect pre orders are true then its again current 360 owners(new owners would pre order the bundle) we might see kinect adventures tracking right under halo reach.

looks like all cod/gears/halo fans got touched by kinectimals, never underestimate the power of a fierce creature when turned into a cute stuffed animal.

a) Really? The name of this chain?

b) ENCOURAGED. "Hey, guys, it would be nice if you could get 10 pre-orders a day". Yes, that would be nice indeed. Doesn't mean this is any sort of projection or evidence.

Here we are with "sources" again. These guys are worse than VG247. For all we know, the "sources" are Pachter and Wedbush Morgan.

Actually, MCV used to be a DVD, Videogame chain themselves. 

They have always been a reliable source for the UK. Anyone who lives here would know that.

Are you sure you're not confusing them with MVC??

I know this is completely unrelated, but my local eb games is the busiest in the state and I was in there today discussing kinect, It has been able to be pre ordered for around 6 weeks and so far there is not one pre order (apparently there have been a few questions/discussions but no one has yet put money down), the staff seem to think that demand is very weak nationwide, I know its just one store in a different country so has no bearing on this article but just thought I would put that out there.

Personally I'm not into either motion controller, I'll buy move for the sorcery and pets game (though its anyones guess if they will actually be good and I have a suspicion a quick return to the store may be on the cards). Microsoft lost my faith with the unreliabilty of the 360 so it will be a long time before i buy any more of their hardware, especially hardware at the price of kinect, Even if bayonetta (my fave 360 game and one of my fave games ever) was kinect enabled, I would avoid the hardware on principle

I wish I understood the appeal that some must consider Kinect to have. Core or casual, what sells it?

.. I may never know.

But regardless of my pointless opinions, those numbers are quite large for preorders this far out.

Well as I mentioned before, why did people buy the Wii Balance Board? My head hurts when I see how much it sold.

What were the FF13 sales split  in the UK?  I was under the impression that it was quite close here.

What were the FF13 sales split  in the UK?  I was under the impression that it was quite close here.

55:45 on launch towards PS3.....light years away from the 2:1 lead for Xbox 360 predicted by that source MCV quoted.
