Only thing I disagree with is the hardware comparison where he says "Move advances current technology, Kinect invents new technology"

Umm...Kinect is just an advancement of EyeToy/PS Eye. Only thing Kinect has over PS Eye is that it senses depth, but with Move, PS Eye can determine depth. In that sense, the Move setup is a combination of Kinect and Wii, getting the best of both worlds (minus like..."Playstation, stop movie)

So the Move can detect where your legs are?

i think yes,  they definetly showed head and body tracking in a demo not too long ago.  the tech is much less advanced but the applications could be at least simular.  hell, dance central might get ported to move.

There is nothing in that article or the linked article that intimates it will be able to do full body tracking like Kinect, only that they think they will be able to have the Move do some sort of facimilie of what the Kinect version is doing.

How does the PS Eye do body tracking in dark rooms?

what the article shows is that a games whos input is full body tracking could be ported to move.  facimilie or not, if the end application is the same no one is going to give two shits about how the tech works.

In this specific trailer, they don't show leg tracking, but they do have the character on screen kicking which should equate to leg tracking as well. I think they did show leg tracking in another trailer, though. It's not depth, but it still sort of works!

Because I game on my 106" projector screen which requires darkness to get the best picture.

Good response.

I too enjoy watching TV with a projector in a very very dark room.

I also do not see Dance Central working the same way on MOVE as it does with Kinect, but I am sure the PSEye can detect the MOVE in the dark thanks to the lit up ball, so MOVE titles would probably still work great on your projector.

Sort of works.  Encouraging!

Look my point is that anyone who says that the PS Eye and Kinect do the same thing is just ignorant of the how the technologies really work.  Aside from the fact they both camera type systems they way they work is not even remotely the same.   No one was going gaga over the Eyetoy for a very good reason, the technology was crude and imprecise.  While you can have some similar EXPERIENCES the way those experiences is achieved is very different.

Put it this way, Kinect can do everything the Eyetoy could do however the opposite is not true.

Did someone say dance in the dark?!

move = more precise1:1

Kinect = Body tracking
